The Beatles by hunter davies
Mendips:
I have the second revised edition (soft cover). In the 'Introduction to the 1985 paperback' section there is a photograph of a young thin Freddie Lennon and he looks EXACTLY like John.
I remember when I first saw it I was shocked because up until then the only photos I saw of John's father were when he was missing teeth, older and overweight.
Does anyone know anything about the other son Fred had?
Sorry to get off topic.
I remember hearing that Hunter disliked Paul but if that's true he didn't show it the way he wrote.
Indica:
Disliked Paul?
Well, I thought Davies and Mccartney were pretty close.
Paul and Linda crashing at Davies Apartment abroad around 68/69 (I think) ..I got the impression Davies liked Paul as a mate and admired John for what everyone admires John for...being John :)
Mendips:
Thanks, Indica!
I'm glad to hear that because it's my mistake! :o
It was Shout author Philip Norman who I was thinking of! It was said of him that he really didn't like Paul? Anybody else ever hear that?
I don't know why I get Shout and the Davies book mixed up all the time.
I guess because one is authorized and the other is UNauthorized.
Forgive me, I'm old and forgetful.
