Morrissey/The Smiths...
« on: March 08, 2008, 09:50:16 AM »

Well I thought for a long time that Morrissey is just an overrated droney old man! But I recently met someone who is a HUGE Morrissey fan and he has been trying to persuade me to listen to more of his music, and I'm finding that I actually love some of it!

'There is a Light That Never Goes Out' especially :)

I'm suprised that I have always overlooked how good some of Morrissey's lyrics are... what are other people's views on Morrissey or The Smiths? Love? Hate? ...

Th Smiths & Morrissey are fantastic!!!!!!! my fav group of the 80's without a doubt!,
they were just & still are different from everybody else. mozza still is! his lyrics are
so intelligent & witty at the same time. i don't think anybody writes like him, &
Johnny Marr is just a guitar / melody genius! i don't think Marr gets the credit he
deserves at times as Morrissey may have overshadowed him. Morrissey has always
told the truth in his lyrics, very rare. i regard him up there with Lennon, & Dylan!
the smiths / morrissey songs are classics!  :) :)
