Title: Which Beatle was the funniest?

They all had their own sense of humor.
John, in my opinion, was the funniest :D

John with his fantastic sense of humour! Which never dropped below a certain decent level. A master!

It's between John and George for me. John had that smart-ass wit. George put some humor into some of his songs, e.g. 'Taxman' or 'Piggies'

Why not.
When it comes to the famous press interviews, John always strikes me as far more uneasy and self conscious than the others. I think a lot of John's reputation as the "witty" Beatle comes more from his books than anything he ever said. Impossible to quantify, but I always find George and Ringo the quickest and wittiest when it came to the spoken word.
I reckon a good example is the "rattle your jewellery." Funny on paper, but John's delivery is nervous and hesitant. But George and Ringo snap out the one liners (many of which are actually funny) with apparent ease.

^ I also really enjoy George and Ringo's sense of humor. I think George had a really funny sarcastic humor that he was really good at timing.
And Ringo always had that humor that was so spontaneous you never saw it coming, I don't even think they always saw it coming. They would all burst into laughter when he would say a great one liner. It's always great to see their expressions when that happens.  :)

I'd vote for either John or George. John's wit was more biting and goofy while George's humor was very dry. However, all the Beatles were funny people, that is partly why I love 'em so much.

Ringo

There's a reason Cynthia called Ringo the funny one/clown of the group.

They all make me laugh in different ways.

John, like everyone has said, just had such an intellegent sense of humor, but he seemed a little self-conscious about him.
Ringo was just a loveable goofball.
George had some great quips that pretty much came out of nowhere.
Paul usually makes me laugh because he often tries so hard to come off as 'serious' and 'professional', but you can tell he's not ha2ha.

But most of all, I love it when they all played off of each other.

Ringo's the funniest but George's dry, subtle jokes are great as well. Never really though of John as a very funny guy and Paul's sense of humor is downright lame. But it's cool, at least he's trying. ;D

John or Ringo. They are both funny in different ways. I like John's wit, can get a bit mean... Ringo seems to be harmless. (not that John wasn't)

I don't think of Monty Python as very subtle... they were quite over-the-top!

George did have a great dry humor that I love... but John was a total clown. To me, he was more Pythonesque... very intelligent and very silly at the same time.

Its a toss up between John and George for me.
John was always in your face funny. But George has this clever sly shy-ish random way of making you laugh.

Probably George and Ringo.

George was the only (ex-)Beatle who appeared in "All you need is cash", the film about The Rutles... The film was, of course, very "pythonesque"... I really think George had a good sense of humour.  :D

But surely that's because Harrison was mates with the Python crew, and his presence in a satire about the Beatles was very apt, and an excellent audience puller. It's a real push to say they included him because he was particularly funny.

Who says that they included him because he was "particularly funny"? I also don't think that he was used as an "audience puller". He surely was mates with parts of the Python crew, probably because they had a similar type of humour. To me, Harrison's appearance in "All you need is cash" showed that he had a good sense of humour. And that's all I wanted to say.

But why should anybody listen to me, since I know nothing... Anyway, I really don't know which Beatle was the funniest. But I think that George, with his dry kind of humour, was probably the wittiest. He was, IMHO, wittier than John, for example.

I thought that George could be pretty funny.

In 1999, George was assaulted in his home and seriously injured by a deranged fan.  After this unfortunate incident, George ironically commented, "Why doesn't this sort of thing ever happen to the Rolling Stones?"

George referred to Eric Clapton as his "Husband-in-Law".

George had a wonderful sense of humor.

"'I Dig a Pygmy', by Charles Hawtrey and the Deaf Aids... Phase One, in which Doris gets her oats!" - again from Let It Be, John cutting up. The 'deaf aids' is what they called their amplifiers, and Charles Hawtrey was a British actor, a real person, who had about 70 film appearances in British cinema between 1922 and 1972.

"I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we've passed the audition." - spoken by John, not at the end of the studio session for "Get Back," but from the rooftop concert; Phil Spector edited it back onto the end of the "Get Back" track. And yes, that's also John at the beginning drolling, "Sweet Loretta Fart, she thought she was a cleaner, but she was a frying pan."

The thing about John is that he was so quick with his wit. And I'm having a blast reading his books. It's like learning a whole new language that is just hilarious, clever and really outrageous.

They were complmentary to each other. I think a lot of John's humor was a cover up for whatever was bothering him! But.. he still was funny!
