It's been extremely cold here in the past week. Temperatures down to -22C (-8F) at night. The car broke down. My son fell with his chin on the ice while skating (he needed three sutures (?) ---> is that the right translation?). It's no fun to me, but most of the people seem to enjoy this type of weather

Poor little guy. Was that his first experience with sutures? We haven't had much ice but I still managed to fall. This sh*t has got to stop before I break something. I'm not getting any younger!

His sutures keep him together. He thought it was cool.

Wow, that is so cool, Bobber, but it would also scare the heck out of me! Aren't polar bears the only creature with no viable enemy?

Geeze, all we see are dumb pheasants sitting by the road and the occasional bunny. Definitely NOT as interesting.

Polar bears have only two natural enemies:  Killer Whales (Orcas) and cats.

Cats?
You forget penguins. See how the polar bears run away for the penguin?

Aw, poor little guy. My son tripped when he was 5 and nearly bit his tongue entirely off. He had to have it stitched back on (ugh!). Now he has a little notch on his tongue; I told him that not many people have a scar on their tongues!

Hope your son's OK, Bobber.

Oh!  I forgot penguins!

I shudder to think what was left of those two poor polar bears later that day.

Hope your son's OK, Bobber.

He's fine, thanks. Although he's a bit less eager to go ice-skating again.

Blizzard warning for Tuesday night into Wednesday; woo-hoo! Time to stock up on movies, books, and wine. That's after I get a bit head of my workload, though.   ;)

Stay safe Kathy! We haven't had anything even remotely resembling a blizzard here. They can be sort of fun, though....sometimes!

Thanks, Kelley; I will. We have a little propane stove and some cans of Sterno as well as lots of canned goods and bottled water -- plus a lot of bread and peanut butter -- should the worst happen. I and definitely will NOT be driving anywhere!
