Your favourite unreleased/ bootleg/alternate song.
« on: November 19, 2008, 11:23:30 PM »

My fave = the GET BACK bootleg album Glyn Johns produced version of LET IT BE. Not a track i'd ever had a huge fondness for oddly enough, but it beats the '...Naked' version and the Spector-ized one hands down.

Yours?

I've always been a fan of take 25 (the strings and brass) and takes 26 (the final overdubs) of Strawberry Fields Forever. The version of Get Back that Paul sings in German is pretty cool too.

Suzy Parker

I loved this song on Let it Be.  One of the few happy moments in the film.

Why has it never seen the light of day?

'That Means A Lot' is on Anthology 2, and there is no studio recording of 'Some Other Guy', but there is a version on 'Live At The BBC'.

Sorry, I thought this post could include songs that weren't released on the Beatles' official albums.  I know these songs were later released on "Anthology" and "BBC" so I guess they technically won't count as real bootlegs anymore, but I still count them among my favorite "unreleased" Beatles tracks.

All righty, here's a funny one (and a real bootleg this time, I think):  John Lennon mixing in the alphabet with "Let It Be."

Oh, I sang that once, not exactly those letters though, and my friend told me that I was crazy and that I should shut up!  ;D

I'm interested to know how Carnival Of Light can be your favourite unreleased song. I'm assuming that you haven't heard it?

Welcome to the forum, btw. :)
