Spot the Turkey!
« on: November 30, 2008, 12:04:31 AM »

[Announcer voice here, you know the guy who says "In a land where ...":] "And now, from the ashes of another, more serious thread is born, like a phoenix arising from the Alaskan tundra, warm holiday wishes from America's most popular governor!!"

All the networks are faux news, really.

 Is there any real news?

Not that I know of.  It's all a fabrication to placate the people.  Like soma (from "A Brave New World").

Here's some real news - spot the turkey*! Best line ... "Awww, this was fun ... sometimes you need a little levity (gobble gobble!)!"

(* BTW - do people in England still say "spot the wanker"? When I lived in Great Yarmouth in the '80's my friends used to say that as they stumbled along the streets after pub closing. Luckily, we never got into any fights!)

Most politicians would just know instinctively that holding a photo op next to a blood-laden trough is a bad idea even if they didn't know exactly what the trough was used for. The indefatigable (and clueless) cheerleader from Wasilla High has another Inspector Clouseau moment.

The most pathetic thing is that the news team tried to tip her off. "Is this background okay?" one of them asked "Oh, fine!" says Ms. Chipper.

As someone who hunts and guts, she was probably proud of the backdrop. She probably thought it made her look tough. "Look! More animals being killed that can't fight back! Bring me my helicopter!" I find it unlikely that she didn't know what the trough was for, although she may not have realized this guy was currently using it.

I think she is snowing all you people. She is building her network for the "Sarah - 2012!" movement, one key block at a time. She knows before she does anything she needs to sew up the all important Alaska Poultry Workers and Processors union  ... she is much more shrewd than you all give her credit for, and she will take advantage of that sort of misunderestimation all the way to ... THE WHITE HOUSE!!

I hadn't heard that, and of course it makes the whole thing even funnier. The poor woman is just clueless. Maybe she'd consider doing a photo op on the edge of the Grand Canyon on a blustery day?

^ That would be too easy. :)

Alexis, you might be onto something there. Seriously, I did think she was trying to impress the locals with her "toughness". She's no shrinking violet who can't stand a little wholesome animal slaughter! Ya bunch o' wimps!

Ugh.  That video is nauseating in more ways than one.  Can't say I'm too keen on animal slaughter or Sarah Palin.   :X

It's his colon that's going to be the loser if he keeps eating all that red meat.  (teeth1)
