The Swinging Blue Jeans are the only band Cilla Black never sang with at The Cavern!

I love Cilla's voice. Anybody got a demo of It's For You, sung by Paul, by the way? I love that song especially.

Cilla can sing but not like Sandie or Dusty. Her voice can be a little 'thin' for me if you get what I mean.

She lost all appeal when she became an 'entertainer' as far as I'm concerned. I used to like her voice, especially when singing tracks like You're My World, but ever since that TV show where she sings Surprise Surprise (I can't remember what that show was  called now!! LOL) it sort of soiled everything good she'd ever done prior to that.

Remember that TV show called Please Sir? Well, for the film version, she recorded a track which was so awful it was great!

"La La La Lu, I love you-o-o, La La La Lee, do you love me-e-e..." Love it! Luckily this can't be spoilt by Surprise Surprise cos it's already crap! Crap in a confusingly good way! ;D

I read an article about Cilla, Dusty and Sandi, the guts of which was one of the downsides of The Beatles was that they made acts who didn't write their own songs very uncool, forcing folk like these fine singers into light entertainment / Eurovision hell.
A few years earlier, or quite a few years later and they could have been very respected recording artists.

It's funny. Cilla had a few hits over here but after the British Invasion she kind of faded into oblivion. But in the UK, she's still as big as ever. She's one of those people that everyone knows. When I went there last year, they had an attitude of "How could you not know Cilla Black?". (Fortunately I did because of the Beatle connection)

Luckily Dusty is still cool... in my eyes anyway!

She's another victim of my curse - just as I really start getting into someone's music they die!!! Happened with Arthur Alexander too!!! I'd just bought two of his absolutely SUPERB albums and the next thing I know he's dead!
