Title: Allan Williams Video Interview
Post by: alexis on July 28, 2007, 07:31:32 PM
http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool/localhistory/journey/stars/beatles/memories/alan_williams.shtml . It takes a minute to load.

Nice tie in to Eddie Cochrane and Gene Vincent too in the interview.

The rest of the site looks pretty interesting too, I just haven' t had time to check it out yet.

...mike mccartney...

I have read somewhere that Paul McCartney presented his brother Mike with a photo camera after returning from The Beatles 1st trip in Hamburg (=1960, December the 1st.) Is true this story??

I wonder how could Paul have brought back a camera to England after being deported (=together with Pete best) by German authorities...

Thanks in advance and best wishes!! ;)

Mike says so (from 1.30). Great pictures in this video!

Mike McCartney (Paul's brother) on the Beatles' early years (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pd7c6unc7n8#normal)

Paul could have bought it in Hamburg. He had some time to pack his stuff before he was put on the other side of the border.

Yes... Although drums, guitar and amp arrived a few days after by ship in Liverpool, acording to Pete Best...

NTW: there is a very interesting photo at 0:57, showing Mike (=is Mike..., isn't he??) sitting at the piano with the instruments around him. How could I get a copy of that photo?

Best!! ;)

You download the footage and make a still of that second. Or it could be in one of Mike's books.

:D

I didn't do anything. I think I couldn't produce a better picture than that from the footage. It might be in one of Mike McCartney's books, but I don't own any of those.
