Title: Best Song the Beatles Covered
Post by: Mendips on September 08, 2004, 07:02:28 PM
I don't know if I made sense with that title, sorry.

Which song do you think the Beatles did the best version of,( a song they didn't write.)
For example, Long Tall Sally, Twist and Shout, Words of Love, Till There was You...etc.

I really love Please Mister Postman. If you hear the original recording by the Marvelettes and then hear the Beatles version, it's just no comparison!

Twist and Shout, definitely! That's why everyone recognizes it as a Beatles tune!

Before I really got into the Beatles, I ALWAYS thought that the Beatles wrote Twist and Shout until I did a lil research.  However, it sounds more natural with the Beatles playing it! That's why I always thought it was a strictly Beatles tune!

And that's why it's my fav :)
