^ It was the live version that was the single, wasn't it? Probably better known.

Lots of surprises.  I've expected Yesterday in the top 10. :P

Yeah, me too! There are other songs I would have predicted to make the top ten that didn't ("Hey Jude," "I Want to Hold Your Hand," and as you mentioned, "Yesterday"), and songs that I would not have expected to make the top ten ("Maybe I'm Amazed (Live)," "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)," and as nice as it is to see it there, non-single "Here Comes the Sun")

That is true, it was the single.  However, it seems like the studio version is considered the more "essential" version.

Thanks for the post! Any songs you're surprised didn't make the list?

Yes.  Here's an alphabetical list of songs I am surprised didn't make the top 250.  Some I am not as surprised by, but others I am very surprised didn't make the List ("No More Lonely Nights" and "Real Love" stick out for me)

"Ain't She Sweet" a hit
"Any Road" (especially since "Stuck Inside a Cloud" made the list)
"Arrow Through Me"
"Bangladesh" (a hit)
"Beware of Darkness"
"Blow Away" (or anything from the George Harrison album, for that matter) (a hit)
"Borrowed Time" (a hit)
"C Moon" (although "Hi Hi Hi" was the hit in the US, this is still so catchy and radio friendly)
"Cheer Down"
"Cold Turkey" (a hit)
"Dark Horse" (a hit)
"Ding Dong, Ding Dong" (especially since John and Paul's holiday songs fared so well)
anything from Ringo's I Wanna Be Santa Claus album (same reason as above)
"Getting Closer" (a hit)
"Give Ireland Back to the Irish" (although it's not as applicable today)
"Grow Old with Me"
"Here Today" (for its sentimentality)
"Hope of Deliverance"
"I'm Stepping Out" (a hit)
"Isn't It a Pity" (double A-side #1)
"Love" (a classic...would have expected cult-like following)
"Mother" (same as above)
"Mull of Kintyre" (although not a hit in the US, I would have expected this to still get some airplay)
"My Brave Face" (or anything from Flowers in the Dirt--"This One," "Figure of Eight," "Put It There")
"Never Without You" (Ringo's tribute to George, featuring Eric Clapton)
"No More Lonely Nights" a top ten hit
"Only You" (Ringo) a top ten hit
"Press" a hit
"Real Love" a top ten hit
"So Bad" a hit
"Spies Like Us" a top ten hit
"This Is Love" (a minor hit)
"This Song" (a hit)
"Vanilla Sky" would have expected this to be a hit.
"Wah-Wah"
"Working Class Hero" (classic Lennon)
"You" (George) a hit
"Young Boy"

I'll take the studio version any day, but it's people who make the requests to stations, and if they're more familiar with the live version, that's what they'll want. There are probably legions of people who've never heard the studio version.

shouldnt the 2 maybe im amazedbe added together? Or is that just an excuse to ensure that Imagine is no1

Hahha... I was actually thinking of posting two separate lists.  One with the most-played Tracks (which is what is listed here), and one with the most-played Songs (combining all versions of each song).

Right now I'm working on re-formatting the first list I posted, as I find it kind of hard to read (a bit too spaced out?), after that, I'll post the "Songs" list :)

That's the scary thought.  "Maybe I'm Amazed" is the most played of any song by the Beatles or solo Beatles?  What is wrong with this world we live in.  Imagine a world where "Maybe I'm Amazed" is not the most played song.  Some people say I'm dreamer, but I'm not the only one who thinks that maybe the greatest Beatles song should be the most played.  I could name dozens before I got to "Maybe I'm Amazed" and a good number too before I got to "Imagine."  "Across the Universe," "A Day in the Life" "Strawberry Fields Forever" "In My Life" "I am the Walrus"--just to name a few John songs.

I am happy that George rates so highly.

But I think of the top ten on the list "Let it Be" is the greatest single song.

Was flipping through stations today at work (FM) and I heard Dear Prudence.  I thought it was strange because I never heard that song on the radio, and unless I am blind, I don't even see it on the list.

The list reads like a fusion of two separate playlists; the one that would turn up on a "rock" radio station and the one that an "oldies" station would use. Pretty much what you'd expect and another great reason for buying an ipod.
