I'm most attached to Help!, it being my favourite album and one of the first Beatles albums I got (and also because I love the movie and it reminds me of it ;D ). But right now I'm very much liking the White Album 8)

BUT which album by The Beatles do you treasure the most in a  sentimental sense..

Oh, goodness.  Great question.  I ask your indulgence:

First place: Beatles VI and Meet the Beatles.  A tie.  I've mentioned on other threads -- the harmonies on This Boy and Yes It Is -- I thought they were written by computers.  Not a bright boy.  But I couldn't conceive how that could be done by a mere person.

Then, in flawed order:
MMT -- the first album I ever bought (around 1970?) after I scratched the **** out of my brother's.
Help! -- Dwight Northrup had it, and we started our band because of it and the film.
Revolver -- Side 1 is sent from above.

I think I was then given 62-66 and 67-70 for Christmas and my birthday (weeks later) when they came out.  My brothers didn't have all the old ones, so I heard "Drive My Car" and "Old Brown Shoe" and others for the first time.

Then my brother came home from the Army, bringing Pepper, Abbey Road, White Album, and Let It Be.  Good Lord.  Those years of discovery ... I've very seldom experienced anything so ... meaningful.

Amazing stuff.  Thanks for the chance to go back through it.  Peace, wal

67-70, because it was the first Beatles album I ever bought.

The White Album, just because there are so many great tracks, including Blackbird (my second fave song after I Feel Fine), Mother Nature's Son, Everybody...Monkey (my nine year old daughter's favorite Beatles song), Dear Prudence, I Will.  Revolver would be a very close second.

Revolver.

When she was about 14 my school friend broke her leg, (horrid accident, I was there when it happened, v traumatic) and the whole class clubbed together to get her something. I was nominated to get her something she'd like. I knew just the thing! We had enough to get her a cassette of Revolver, so she could listen to it in hospital. She was really pleased! Since then it's been a great album for me. I love the cover, great art. The songs are sooooo good, George was stepping out from behind John and Paul, there's so much wonderful music on there. I think it points where they were going as well.

The White Album and Revolver they both remind me of summer and school holidays, don't know why.

At the moment, either Sgt. Pepper's or the White Album.
I guarantee you this choice will change in two hours.

I don't think that I can say I am more attached to one album over the rest.  I have different reasons why I am attached to different ones.

When I was about 9, I got my first cd player.  I saved up my own money and bought a Beatles album because I heard my dad play some of the songs on a turntable.  I went to the store, still not too familiar with the group, and somehow ended up with Please Please Me.  I think it must have been due to Twist and Shout.  I remember later finding out that album was the first they released, so I thought it was cool that it was the first I bought.  I still have that original PPM that I purchased that day and it has been played to death- but I would not part with it willingly.

On the other hand, I remember buying Revolver as well.  The album cover I thought then- as I do now- was the best I had ever seen.  I used to love looking at it all the time.  I eventually got a bigger than door-sized poster of the cover and it hung up for years.  The other thing about Revolver, is that I still regard it as my favorite album, and maybe their best.

The other albums that comes to mind are Abbey Road and THE BEATLES.  There is just something special about each.  Abbey Road is something I listen to and it makes me feel good-  despite being the end of the road for the band.  On the polar opposite, I may listen to THE BEATLES more than any other because it is so darn intriging to me.  It stays fresh to me and seems to also provide me with a surprise even thought I have played it hundreds of times.

I love those albums, but the Beatles canon is so great that many of my favorite songs are not on there.

Abbey Road. The first Beatles CD I owned. It's just perfection, from beginning to end. It just makes me happy.  (Even Octopus's Garden) :)
