New single: A Fine Line
« on: July 22, 2005, 03:57:03 AM »

Paul's new single 'A Fine Line' is being given it's world wide premiere on BBC radio 2, 26th July at 7:30 am in the UK.

Hope it's not a dissapointment.

If I like it, I'll say so. If I don't, I'll say so. Rather like yourself Appy, and everyone else: it's what a forum is about.

The difference is: I have more demanding standards than you.

Just started a thread, with a link you can download A FINE LINE. Low quality, but certainly enough to make a judgement.

And you're wrong again Appy: I'm not condemning it at all! Go have a listen, and read what I say about it.

More demanding standards in what? Please don't say music. Maybe writing.....NOT music. 'But deep down you know....' You know your already gearing up for your dis-approval....No, I have not heard it. I was never defending the song though was I?

Of course it's a forum Ydoll...So we can all have our say. Listen to yourself....I have more demanding standards indeed. Wrong again? About what? Someone make this joker open his eyes.

You can't see through your self indulged, superiority complex, tinted spectacles. Ooops...I got it wrong....It's your demanding standards....I'm still chuckling. lol

A fairly good attempt at a pun, there. I give it a 4 out of 10.

Avoid THE issue? I thought there were a couple of issues, neither of which I was avoiding.

(A) The standards thing. I think I have more demanding standards than you. Well I do think that! Don't you, Appy, think that YOU have more demanding standards than me? Of course you do. See - it cuts both ways. No problem: just pride and confidence in one's OWN beliefs.

(B) How good A Fine Line is. Well, now you know what I think of it.

No avoiding the issue in either case.

(A) More demanding standards in what exactly?

I would never address the issue of comparing our standards. There is no point in that. It acheives and means nothing useful. That is the difference between you and I.  So you can take that logic back of suggesting what I think.

(B) I have still not heard the track. Our exchange back there about this has expired as a conversation, as it goes. So theres no need to flog a dead horse on that one. ;) I may post my opinion when I hear it. Then maybe, you can ascertain in a comparable way, what you think the level of our standards are.

I am a gentleman, well done so far on your countries recent Ashes form btw.

I thought Australia's behavior was weak. So much sledging, and in your-face-bullying. I REALLY would like some team somewhere to give Australia a lesson in both skills and sportsmanship.

It turns out the CD single features two none-album tracks...

"Comfort in Love", "Growing Up Falling Down"...

Those non-album tracks from the CD single are amazing.

"Growing Up, Falling Down" is really interesting. It's like a lost White album-era Indian-exotic Beatles song.

"Comfort of Love" is just fantastic. It's so intricate and dynamic (like most of the songs from "Chaos and Creation" that I've heard so far, notably "Promise To You Girl" and "Fine Line") that I want to listen to it again and again. Why it wasn't on the album I don't know.

This song is great, I've already seen a hybrid lexus commercial with this song in it. Also I heard it today at work, I was so happy when it came on. The song is great, its just one of those songs that gets stuck in but you like that its in your head. I think this song is going to be a hit.
