that was one of the allegations made in their famous drug bust (67?)
the girl was Marianne Faithful
I think its now accepted as an urban myth

The story:

Apparently, the cops found Marianne Faithful with a mars in her thing and said:
"This is nuts!"
And she answered:
"No, it's a Mars".

Everyone involved denies that it ever really happened though.

The Mars Bar is a myth. All who were there deny it and most of the official versions of what happened have been discredited. They were busted for possession of hash  and amphetemines (hardly rock- your -socks- off stuff). Jagger and Richards have always insisted the famous "white powder" was planted. This is now generally accepted as fact.
Sorry - but it's hash and no Mars Bar.

Hey, did you know that David Bowie was originally going to play the Acid Queen in Tommy? I just found that out last week. Interesting, huh?

Bowie's been very quite since he had that health scare during his Reality Tour in 2003 , he's 61 in January i wonder if we will get another album next year ? Hope so he's one of my alltime favourites .
Hunky Dory ,Station To Station and " Heroes " are brilliant :)

my four fave Bowie albums are (note: I have them all so I have to narrow the field):

1) Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
2)Hunky Dory--this is arguably his best, but I still put it at #2
3)Aladdin Sane
4)Pin-ups (I know, I know this album contains ONLY covers, but it's one of the best cover albums I ever heard)
