Beatles Great Paul McCartney Plunges Into Crowd Sourcing

Four decades after Paul McCartney crooned “send me a postcard, drop me a line,” the British rock icon is inviting fans to send him original works of art, in a bid to cultivate new ways to interact with audiences. In a contest set to begin Wednesday and created by tech start-up Talenthouse, the promotion calls for competitors to design a work inspired by McCartney’s music (any of it, not necessarily “When I’m Sixty Four”). The winner will receive $1,000, merchandise and a high-end design software package. Idea Generation, a London art gallery, will display the winning work of art, and sponsor Saatchi & Saatchi will feature the artwork of 10 runners-up on its online gallery.
