I regard my Hofner 500/1 v62, Rickenbacker 360-12C63, and VOX AC30CC2X as prized Beatles items...

But my true prized possession is my 1963 Gretsch 6122 Country Gentleman...

I don't think there's anyone here who wouldn't prize those possessions Barry. And the fact that you can actually play them makes it even better! I'd just have to look at them in wonder. ;)

Thanks, Kelley.  I bought that Country Gentleman about 25 years ago when it was just another "used guitar."  It's a true collector's guitar today.  It's called "The King George Model" these days.

The Rickenbacker twelve string played through my VOX amp has that distinctive sound heard in...

The Beatles: "If I Needed Someone" Rickenbacker 360/12 C63 & Vox AC30

and...

The Beatles: "You Can't Do That" (George's part) Rickenbacker 360/12C63 & '67 Gibson Skylark amp

I have to second Kelley's sentiments, Barry. Thanks for sharing!  :)

Don't forget to sing," do-do-do" and when you get all that down you can add the fiddley bits at the end.  ;)

You're welcome, Kathy.  I guess my Beatles items trend somewhat on the expensive side.  But I love how The Beatles' guitars sound on their recordings and I vowed, years ago when I was a teenager learning to play guitar, that one day I might be able to make those sounds myself.  I don't play in a band but rather play for just myself, sometimes along with the original recordings as was done on those YouTube videos.  It's my form of relaxation after a hard day's work.

That's funny, Kelley, but I do do the do-do-dos when I practice bass.  :)

But Paul is the master of immitating instruments...

paul mccartney for no one solo acoustic performance

I also have this 20 inch Beatles drumhead.  It's a hand-painted replica of Ringo's Ed Sullivan Show head done by a graphics artist I know in Georgia who is an ardent Beatles fan and a drummer in s Beatles tribute band.  He did the recreation in the same style as was done for Ringo...

And this OPP patch...

With all this gear stuff and your other Beatles items you've got the makings of a better exhibit than that one I saw at that place in Cleveland that everybody hates.

The Beatles didn't have to buy all that gear gear they played.   ;D
