The Beta Band broke up a while ago. I think Ween still exists. Radiohead.

in fact, IMHO, there are quite a lot of good bands nowadays. Check out some indie Elephant 6 bands like Neutral Milk Hotel, Olivia Tremor Control, Ladybug Transistor, Sufjan Stevens, Essex Green and a bunch of others.

Stereolab, Belle and Sebastian, Delays, The Shins, New Pornographers, The Thrills etc.

Rock & roll was rebellious, important & influential in the 60's & the 70's while there has NOT been any great rock groups since the 80's.

3 Doors Down
Linkin Park
All three  play straight forward rock and roll, although I think Linkin Park is a bit gimmicky. Nickleback would be my favorite of the newer bands
