I saw an interview with him about 8-9 years ago on 20/20 or some news magazine. I don't know if its necessarily morbid curiosity but it does have some strange intrigue. The thing about him is that when he speaks, he is calm, cool and collected, which, as insidious as it is, is also creepy. I think that NBC capitalizing on the 25th anniversary of John's death at the hands of this cretin is deplorable. I don't know what else he has to say.

Here's what I read:

Marking the 25th anniversary of John Lennon's death, "Dateline" will air a documentary on the music legend's life and legacy that explores the events that led to that fateful day. Along with personal accounts by those first on the scene the night of his murder, the report includes interviews with people close to Lennon, and exclusive interviews with those who knew his killer, Mark Chapman.

I heard they will use audiotape of Chapman from 1991. So I don't think they're interviewing him. Thank God.

Strange how with well known murderers their second name is almost always used. The interviews are indeed extracts from the audio tape interviews from the early 90's, in which MDC states he was like a runaway train and hoped to find his identity by killing John...

The person that would kill him is no better than him then. What would it accomplish? John is gone and he ain't coming back whether you break MDC on a wheel or with a bullet.

God it was aweful. I mean, it's like reliving it they did it in such detail. Honestly, I don't know why I watched it. They should have just focused on John and his life. God I'm depressed.  :'(

I haven't come across too many people that don't know that. I mean, other than my second grade students. But then, I don't hang out at high schools or anything.
