If you are scared of spiders, this is the stuff of nightmares.

More than 25,000 venomous spiders have descended on a small town in Australia and experts have no idea why.

Maningrida, which is 300 miles east of Darwin, is crawling with the creatures.

However arachnologist, Dr Robert Raven, thinks the takeover could provide information invaluable to medical research.

Maningrida is an Aboriginal town and I suspect they will eat them, quite tasty actually Ive eaten cooked Tarantula in Thailand  :P

Reminds me of that old 70s move "Kingdom of the Spiders" with William Shatner.

I love how they downplay the threat from the spiders. They're not fatal. Only induce 6 to 8 hours of vomiting.  ha2ha

I don't mind little, non-hairy spiders. I usually put them outside when I find them in the house. But hairy ones of any size are another story!
