Mr Moonlight???
THERE's a twist!
-
Mr. Moonlight AND Words of Love......crazy.
-
I love John's voice in Mr. Moonlight, you can tell he's singing with passion. Plus, it reminds me of the Mariachi music ;D
I got sick of hearing Eight Days A Week, Kansas,Babys in Black and the other popular numbers
-
People consider. beatles for sale there least liked album, but i like beatles for sale better then meet the beatles, it only has 2 good songs, Please mr. postman and it wont be long.
-
Well, Meet the Beatles can't really be compared........it's not really a UK album...but I guess you mean that you like BFS better than With the Beatles.........I actually like BFS quite a bit myself, it's better than both Please Please Me and A Hard Day's Night for me...

"I'm a Loser" - one of John's first self-reflective works.
-
I'll Follow The Sun

I think No Reply is really good. I love John's voice on that song.

"I'm A Loser" with "Every Little Thing" a close second.

Eight Days a Week is my favorite followed by No Reply and I'm a Loser.
I saw a young German guy sing a beautiful, very emotional version of Eight Days a Week on tv right after the Berlin Wall came down. He was singing in pretty good English and playing acoustic guitar. Tears came to my eyes as he played it and then explained that Beatles music was smuggled into East Germany and many of the people there craved everything by The Beatles.
-
"I Don't Want To Spoil The Party" is BRILLIANT in my opinion. Definetly the best tune on that album. "I'll Follow The Sun", "No Reply" and "I'm A Loser" are good songs too.
Worst song : "Baby's In Black".
Best covered song : "Rock and Roll Music".
-
I like "What You're Doing"
-
No Reply is my favorite. Followed by Eight Days A Week, I'm A Loser, Honey Don't and I'll Follow The Sun.
-
My favourite is Every Little Thing.
I've always regarded it as a real buried gem of a Beatles song and I'd never heard anyone mention it much - until one day I read that it was the most played song on the gorgeous Lauren Laverne's ipod!
Remembering my vinyl copy, from side one I always loved No Reply, I'm A Loser and I'll Follow The Sun.
From side two it was Eight Days A Week, Every Little Thing and What You're Doing.
This being the era of the LP, when you couldn't just skip tracks with a remote control handset or pre-programming, I actually grew to slightly resent I Don't Want To Spoil The Party, annoyingly sandwiched in between my two overall favourites on the entire album. I wanted them back to back!
What You're Doing I always regarded as Paul's downbeat answer to "John's" more optimistic Every Little Thing. It was only relatively recently that I learned ELT is in fact apparently a Paul song, despite John taking the main vocal. Can't recall them ever doing that before (or since)?

Worst song : "Baby's In Black".
It's a waltz! I like that song.
-
It's a waltz! I like that song.
I had to sing it in my head to figure out the count for that! I never realized that!!
-
My favorites are No Reply, Baby's in Black and Eight Days a Week :)

John explained it all at Shea...
The Beatles, Babys in Black (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csaj88SatY4#)
"It's a waltz, this one. Remember that!"
;)

The Beatles - Baby's In Black (NME Poll Winners Concert) [HD] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyMZ6ejfT04#ws)
in 6/8 time, moderato so it sounds like a waltz
-
Some people like fast waltzes, some people like slow waltzes.

Yeah, 6/8's considered waltz time (at least when I was skating, a lot of our waltz dances were in 6/8 time. And one of them was actually the exact same timing as Norwegian Wood :) )
-
Probably Eight Days A Week.
-
Ditto on all who said eight days a week.
I've heard it a million times but the way it fades in and BREAKS is life affirming !
-
I would choose no reply
i also think that no reply is one of the best songs on the album.
babys in black is nice also. the way that eight days a week fades in is just magical,
just like someone else has stated here.
;yes
-
In my opinion the best song on that album is "Every Little Thing".
-
no reply or I'll follow the sun IMO
-
Of the originals my fave is probably "I Don't Want To Spoil The Party". I love the soaring harmonies and the slightly melancholy verses which I find similar to "I'm A Loser". Great tune overall.
Of the covers, "Words of Love". Lovely tune enriched by beautiful harmonies. Overall though "I Don't Want to Spoil the Party" is my fave song on the album...at the moment. :)
-
Every Little Thing is my favourite, Eight Days A Week is probably the best though.
