*NEW* Beatles Easy Quiz!
« on: April 27, 2006, 12:00:48 PM »

Here's a new game - ask a question and whoever is the first to get it right (or wrong!) asks the next question. If their answer was wrong - it doesn't matter we can continue on regardless (but supply the correct answer).

Keep the questions fairly simple because then we can ALL fight to be the first to answer!! :)

Here we go...

Who sang the "aaaaaaahs"... ha ha, no - just kidding!!! ;D

What were the first and last words sung by The Beatles when we first heard them in 1962 and last heard them in 1970?

I must say this is becoming a game forum, with all these heal/hurt and other games... But alright:

Question 1: It was John AND Paul singing the aaah's, lol!

Question 2: Love, love me do and Let it be

Is that correct?

Next: who plays the horn on For No One?

Alan Civil.

In which Beatles song do they sing "Frere Jacques" in the background?

C'mon, zipp ... we all know they used to released one in summer and another one in autumn (two per year, more or less) ... but there were some exceptions ... not many ... which ones?  :)

P.S. I'm talking about their p(r)oper career (62-70), of course!  ;D

You can use my ranking:  8)
1. Guys For Sale
2. Abbey Road
3. Let It Be
4. The Guys
5. Please Please Me
6. Revolver
7. Rubber Soul
8. Yellow Submarine
9. Help!
10. Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
11. Magical Mystery Tour
12. A Hard Days Night
13. With The Guys

... last words? where? UK or US? ...
... US-er single The Long And Winding Road/For You Blue or Get Back LP song from UK-ian Let It Be album ?

I think they are "Love, Love Me Do ... " and "Get back to where you once belonged" (in UK)

Yeah UK - the clue was the 1962 date - no US releases in 1962!

So...
"Love" from the Love Me Do single
"Belonged" from the last track on the Let It Be LP (or you can hear someone say "get back home" just before the 'ooooh')

I thought that was easy! ;D

Yeah - not so easy that one!!

Here goes...

Please Please Me - March = spring(?)
With The Beatles - November = winter
Beatles For Sale - December = winter
Rubber Soul - December = winter
Collection of Oldies - December - winter
Sgt Pepper - June = end of spring!
White Album - November = winter
Yellow Submarine - January - winter
Let It Be - May spring-ish

My EASY question for you -

Who backed Paul's lead vocal when The Beatles played All My Loving in concert?

I thought it was easier than Alan Civil's one...  ??)

Rubber Soul - December = winter

Sgt Pepper - June = end of spring!
White Album - November = winter
Yellow Submarine - January - winter
Let It Be - May spring-ish

The answer:
the first one: Plese Please Me,
the last one: Let It Be,
the most famous one: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Herts Club Band and
the weird-east one: Yellow Submarine ...

... the others were realeased in summer or autumn (remember that winter begins in the third week of December)

Answering your too? easy question: John Lennon ... at least that's what I've seen in the videos ... I've never attended one of their concerts ...  :-/

Sorry ... my question (tell me if this is difficult too) ...

You know The Guys decided the name for their brand new album for 1966 while touring in Japan ... well, tell me -at least- two alternate names for that album ...

... The Guys were thinking about calling the album ...? or ... ?  :)

Well your question was very tricky and a bit subjective because I would always consider November and December to be winter because it's bloody cold!!!!!

So anyway...

George provided backing vocals to Paul's lead when they played All My Loving live. I haven't seen them live in person either, by the way!

The answer to your question in respect proposed album titles for Revolver, was "Abracadabra", "Magic Circles" and "Beatles On Safari" I believe.

Next question...

Which Beatle sang lead vocals on the old Marlene Dietrich song Falling In Love Again, ?

I vote for Sir Paul ...

------

What's the date and hour (aprox.) when the photo for Abbey Road album cover was taken? ...

... if you don't know it you can tell me if they are entering or leaving the studio in that pic and -at least- two alternate names for that album ... again ...
