it gives me the creeps to know that Mark David Chapman is in a cell at Attica just 90 miles north of where I am right now...
If he ever gets out, he won't last a day.
(that's not a threat because I'm not a violent person--but I've known many die-hard Beatle fans from my home area of nyc that want Chapman gone..for good.. They never got over that Lennon was killed THERE. :'( I kinda see their point, but two wrongs don't make a right. I remember telling one of them in 1991 that "John himself wouldn't condone that kind of revenge")
let it be.
-
Oooh that'd creep me out too!!! Although I'm typically non-violent, lets just say I hope I'm never within gun shot range of MDC. ;)
-
The guy was/is delusional, I am guessing, at least for me, it wouldn't be very satisfying revenge.
-
This guy had problems but that doesn't excuse him for what he did. But eliminating him won't bring John back. He deserves to be in prision for life remembering what he did. I think that's the worst punishement someone can get.
-
The best revenge we can have is to forget about him. He wants to be famous. Best response is Mark who?

god, I couldn't agree with this more.
he deserves to be less than a footnote in history...relegated to obscurity.
-
I'm afraid that the media won't let this happen, especially if they let him out.
:-/
-
He is a nutcase and if let out would become a high profile nutcase. So, I am guessing he will always be kept out of society.
-
If they let him out someone somewhere will get him , of that im sure , somebody will crave this notoriety ?
But i agree he's best forgotten .

I don't think this twisted sick man should ever get released for what he did. Mark Chapman made thousands grieve all over the world. I see there are a couple of films about him (i'm not seeing them)! I'm not usually a nasty man but Chapman should rot in prison. He'll get lynched if he's ever released.
-
I find it impossible to embrace forgiveness in this instance. A true test for us all. So damn sad.
:(
-
It (don't even wanna type his name) should never ever be released and should suffer in prison till he dies I say.
-
the guy sucks in my opinion If they ever let him out (witch they wont) but if they did he would be dead in 10 seconds not a threat tho cause I never hurt anyone in my life
-
I think that he knew what he was doing but he just wasn't right in the head. At least any normal person wouldn't commit such a crime and think that it was right. He should never be let out. He in my mind wasted and killed such a beautiful mind that we could all still benefit from for his own twisted sickness.
and Beatle Ed what does your signature mean?

Beatle Ed is/was Paul McCartney. It's a quote from the Making of Imagine movie:
John asks George if he's seen any ex-Beatles lately, and George says he saw Beatle Ed the other day. There used to be a clip on YouTube, but it looks like it's been taken down.

I think she's referring to Erin aka Beatle Ed who is a poster from the old days. She's been absent since having a couple of babies! Apparently this is another resurrected old thread.

Yes. I think she was asking what Erin's sig menat.
-
Unfortunately, Erin's long gone! And I didn't see the sig. Again, my reading comprehension fails me. Alzheimer's?

Erin's sig says, 'Saw Baetle Ed Today'. I think she wanted to know what that meant. Dementia's a terrible thing.
What was I saying...? ;)

-
Uhm can i ask what id dementia ??

What I think is creepy is that John wrote a song called Attica State.
But I'm not going to go into a long reply about how I feel about "you know who" because I have many times before on here and I don't feel like typing it all again.
-
YOKO!
hah
-
"Beatle Ed" was just George's throwaway comment when he told John, on camera, who he'd seen lately. It didn't mean Paul, Ringo or anyone else. It was a typical Beatle-esque play on words, satirizing the way they were (in the early days) referred to as Beatle John, Beatle Paul, etc.
Don't know anything about Erin though.
