Funny, but you hear A LOT of these songs on the Muzak at the grocery store.  Never "Eleanor Rigby" or even "Good Day Sunshine."  I think these songs are supposed to work on the subliminal level.  As soon as you actively listen, you're quickly horrified.

If pushed, I'd have to go with the Michael Jackson songs.  Can you imagine, if he'd lived, John Lennon watching "The Girl is Mine" video, balled up on the floor in a convulsion of laughter.  He woulda needed more than a condom to p*ss in.

For a "real" version of the song check this out:

See, 'The Girl Is Mine' is a perfect example of a song that Paul was involved in that he flat out knew wasnt very good, but he knew it would sell due to Michael Jackson being involved and how much crap was on the radio at the time. Another example of Paul conforming to what the public wanted instead of him doing his own thing.

Paul knows that 90% of the listening public are in fact ignorant when it comes to music and he's cashed in more often than not due to this factor alone.

I think Ebony & Ivory is one of the worst songs ever!
Even the Stevie Wonder fans wish it had never been made.

The Girl is Mine is bad   -  but I credit MJ with that one  -  not Paul.

I say the worst One is Give Ireland Back to the Irish It`s a song that was Banned World Wide  the day it was released in 1972  because it was a protest song against Great Britain owning Ireland as a Common Wealth of the Empire. and After the Bloody Sunday Riots in Northern Ireland. Wonderful Christmas Time Could have done better or else something better  Mary had A Little Lamb is to attack on the BBC and other Radio station that Banned the first Single!  Paul was quoted to say Try to ban this song

I love 'Give Ireland Back To The Irish'. Paul finally grew a set when he wrote this one and as a bonus track, it gives 'Wildlife' a sembelance of decencey.

To each their own though. Its all good.

Give Ireland back to the Irish, while not musically great is a fantastic single as its a reaction to events occuring around him. The fact that it spawned Mary Had  A Little Lamb, the most unlikely protest song EVER,  makes it great as well.

This is why i dont get that People dont think Paul was political while John gets lauded for 'giving peace a chance'. Did anyone ever say to John that they didnt want to give peace a chance?

A more astute political observation than most of John's.  8)

I hope you do realize that the song became such a huge hit because all the 12 to 15 year old girls that love Michael Jackson pounced on it. The song is awful and your losing credibility quick with me.

What's your point?

Aren't you a drummer? Drummers are talentless wannabes. What credibility do you think you have? As lame as he is, every day, Michael Jackson expunges into his toilet more talent than you will ever have, or will ever have the capacity to recognize. If you dedicated the rest of your life, you could not even aspire to creating "The Girl Is Mine", regardless of it's lameness, regardless if the audience was 12 year olds, 20 year olds, or 40 year olds.

I don't understand why you think you know something we don't?

Once more, What's your point?
