I think we may have already had this one but... I think the 1st US cover was by Del Shannon with From Me To You, 1st UK cover was MIsery by Kenny Lynch but I'm not sure that either charted too well.

Billy J Kramer and the Dakota's had the first MAJOR success with Do You Want To Know A Secret though I believe.

It was Queen Mum.

Next question:

John used this name on 'Wallls And Bridges'. Dwarf was the name of Dylan's music company, McDougal was the name of the street Dylan's Greenwich Village apartment was on.

Who is Ian Iachimoe?

Lol! I had to look that one up.
Ian Iachimoe was the name under the manuscript of Paperback Writer, so in fact the one that wrote the letter to the 'Dear Sir or Madam'.

Ian Iachimoe is Paul McCartney's name played backwards on a tape recorder. When Paul wrote "Paperback Writer", he signed the lyric sheet, "Sincerely, Ian Iachimoe".

here's what I found:
There were two versions of that first single, one (called the "rock" version) had the intro in
German and the other (the "twist" version) had the slow intro in English. These were distinguished
from one another both on the label and on the picture sleeve. The "twist" version of the song sold
better, and very soon, "My Bonnie" found itself in the German Top Twenty, finally selling up to
180,000 copies in Germany. The single was held back until October, 1961 ("Rock"), and mid-January,
1962 ("Twist").

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Lead guitar on "You Can't Do That" was played by Johnny ;D

++++++++++++++++++++++++

Here's the next question:
remember the film "Help"
what's written on the metal box that was placed in the underground beneath the Beatles when they tried to record
"The Night Before"

It is actually the same version of the song except with a slow German or slow English intro - there is also a version with the intro trimmed off completely! :)
