Victims of american Bombs in 1945
As an author, after the war ended in 1945 report , which can be found in the city archives going from 280 deaths from air raids. This number is not used and there appears too high , though so far there are no casualty figures of Air Force members and students. In contrast, the number of called there 640 people bombed Neuruppin seems to correspond to the facts.

Sorry for those innocent casualties and its a horrible thing. Shame they lived in a country that was led by an insane dictator that killed millions of innocent people and was trying to take over the world. If only they had a choice.

Thank you for clarifying that, Barry; I was feeling very stupid. My book study group is currently doing a series on the Gospel of Matthew, and the instructor was saying that to properly understand the New Testament one must know the Old Testament -- and I don't. I find the Old Testament very confusing.

I'm certainly not a scholar on the subject, Kathy, but I studied The Old Testament in grade school. It covers a longer period of time than The New Testament and there are a few chapters in the first five books that were rewritten at a later time and appear twice. Maybe that makes it a bit confusing and out of order. Even then, my teachers introduced Isaiah to us as a prophetic and allegorical book. The verses in Isaiah have always fascinated me.
We never studied The New Testament, but I read that on my own. I always felt that The Gospel of Matthew presented Jesus as a bit of a "radical' compared to the other gospels. In this 1964 Italian movie, The Gospel According to St. Matthew, Jesus often appeared angry and detached...

Matthew is my favorite gospel, especially because it includes the Sermon on the Mount (chapters 5, 6 & 7), which is the essence of Jesus Christ's message.

Actually the Sermon on the Mount that can be read in Matthew shows the true meaning of the Moses law from the Old Testament.

I started Hebrews today.

That is interesting; I had no idea there was a movie on the Gospel of Matthew. I'm in a rush right now but will definitely watch the clip you posted.
I should probably just jump in and start reading....Not reading for fear of feeling stupid is just false pride.

Sometimes what we think will be the most difficult turns out to be just what we need.

Sorry mate but they did have a choice. Most historians regard nazism as "tyranny by consent." By any measure Hitler and his government were hugely popular amongst the German people. They willingly indulged in the atrocities that he articulated. As have we by those from our leaders. As have most nations. to dismiss Hitlrr as an "insane dictator" somehow hood winking an entire nation is too easy a let off for mankind,

yes but in truth most people didnt know what they were electing, and after he came to power a lot of Germans were too scared to speak out against him, he certainly didnt have mandate to commit the atrocities or maybe the invasions.
