I first 'discovered' them when I was nine listening to 'Please, Please Me' - much less interesting.

I'm glad you gave them another try! Welcome to the forums.  :)

I had a couple of online friends who love the Beatles, so in October, two months after I stopped going online, I was buying songs off iTunes for my new iPod and I got some Beatles songs. And now I have all their music. The end.

I've been into the Beatles basically since birth! My mother played alot of Rubber Soul, Magical Mystery Tour, and Paul and John's solo material and I always loved it. I'm 25 now....so consider it a 25 year love affair.

Good for you...you listened to your mom! I tried with my two but it didn't work. Welcome to the forums!

I tried it with my kids, too, and have converted 2 out of 3, although I know the third, my older daughter, is a secret fan -- I catch her humming Beatles songs all the time. She's just too stubborn to admit she likes them!

I know my daughter has all my Beatles "basics" on her iPod and has admitted to really liking "Across the Universe". My son will often concede that one song or another is "pretty good" but whenever I try to share the latest thing I've learned their eyes kind of glaze over. The rabid fandom is lacking.  ;)

We have a CD at the library where I work that is covers of Beatles songs for kids. Every time I see it I think, "No! Give them the original stuff!" JMHO  :)

Yeah, I can't understand why you'd wanna give 'em a covers disc for the kids. Music can and should be enjoyed by people of all ages, especially the works of the Beatles.
