Maybe not a very familiar name, but he gave us some great songs... According to Wikipedia he also worked with John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

thank you for being a friend

I still think the intro of Bridge To Your Heart is quite brilliant:

One...
Two...
One, two...
One, two, three, four - hold it...
Now!

Did some research, but couldn't find anything so far. Just the message that he recorded with Paul, John and Ringo and shared the stage with Paul. But where and when? I can imagine that Paul and Andrew Gold met tho. Andrew knew Graham Gouldman and Paul knew Eric Stewart. There's a 10CC connection.

He worked with Paul in 1994 and

Quote
At the Hollywood Bowl I sang on stage with Paul McCartney for Earthday. Just me, Paul..and 230 of his closest friends on stage. Fun night"

with Ringo in 1993

Quote
"When Ringo was working on Time Takes Time, I played with him and it was very groovedelic to realize he had the same cymbals on his kit that he had used on Ed Sullivan. Wow. It was odd, however, to say "Hey Ringo this..or Ringo, do you think etc. etc." I mean, Ringo is an icon name not a normal person! Eventually I just settled into "Your Majestic Wonderfulness"

He also worked with Brian Wilson. He sang and conducted backing vocals on Brian's album 'I Just Wasn't Made For These Times'.

I remember Andrew Gold. His songs "Thank You for Being a Friend" and "Lonely Boy" got a lot of airplay in the late '70's. Sad to read that he's gone.

And if I'm not mistaken, he provided almost all the instrumentation for Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good", certainly doing all the guitar work himself. I've also heard drums, but I haven't confirmed that.
