I always loved that picture with Lord Woodbine. How prophetic that they would be sitting in front of a slab inscribed with "Their Name Liveth Evermore".

It's interesting to think that any of these guys, Eric Griffiths, Colin Hanton, Rod Davis, Len Garry, Nigel Whalley, and of course, Pete Best, could have become Beatles. And how it might have changed them. For better or worse we can never know.

Most realistically, I've sometimes wondered how it might have been if Pete rather than Ringo had stayed in the band. I found on a website that Pete didn't like singing in the cavern days. But it seems the other guys always wanted a complete band, with them all singing. Maybe that's part of the reason they chose Ringo.

Ringo can hardly be called a singer.
