John Lennon quote

Before a joined I saw someone had a quote from John Lennon in their signature...I can't find it now and I can't remember the whole quote. I do remember it said at the end "and it really was a man who was afraid to cry" or something like that.

Does anyone know this quote I'm talking about?

Oh, that's Beatle Ed's quote. "My defenses were so great. The cocky rock and roll hero who knows all the answers was actually a terrified guy who didn't know how to cry. Simple."
