Jeff Lynne is probably the most under-rated singer/songwriter.  The Electric Light Orchestra was a great band!

I'm not a huge fan, but I do like Eldorado. The opening 'Eldorado Theme/Can't Get It Out Of My Head' is wonderful.

I loved ELO back in the '70s but they leave me cold now. Maybe I should give 'em another chance. After all, Jeff Lynne is a Wilbury, and therefore George's brother...

There is much to not like. There was at the time. But there's also some very inspired work; 'Mr. Blue Sky' with that continual drum beat, should never have worked. Apparently Bev Bevan thought he was mad when he asked him to do it.

Yes, Jeff Lynne is certainly very talented. He probably got too caught up in the bad musical trends of the '70s, unfortunately.

E.L.O.
What a very underated band these were, loved all the albums from On The Thid Day up to Out Of The Blue  8)
Side 3 on On Out Of The Blue is a masterpiece and finishs with one of the best endings to any record on Mr Blue Sky ,that orchestra bit never fails to send shivers down my spine .   8)
