She's Leaving Home is a song I have never cared for much. I usually skip it when listening to Sgt. Peppers. Well, until recently when I heard it in mono. What a beauty. A real eye opener. At the moment my new favourite Beatles song.
Wiki:
The stereo version of the song runs at a slower speed than the mono mix, and consequently is a semitone lower in pitch.
Stereo:
THE BEATLES Remasters! /// 6. She's Leaving Home - (Stg. Pepper's LHCB) - (STEREO Remastered 2009) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma4b4tIeLBo#ws)
Mono:
THE BEATLES Remasters! /// 6. She's Leaving Home - (Stg. Pepper's LHCB) - (MONO Remastered 2009) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_rjVQJYY2A#ws)
What do you think? Which one do you prefer?

I commented on this in The Beatles under a microscope - Sgt. Peppers thread a couple of months ago...

Although I prefer the mono Sgt Pepper's to the stereo album, this song is an exception.

I go for the slower one. Is that the mono or stereo one? I always mix them up.

The stereo version is the slower one.

The stereo version is the slower one.
Stereo Slow. Thanks Barry.

You'rrrrrrrrrre welcommmmmme Corrrrrrrrrrr.

fantastic song in either version/speed

A fabulous song, one of my top 10 Beatles songs. Haunting strings and a melancholy storyline.

Yes, I prefer the stereo version too. It's a sad melancholic song - no need to rush it up. Besides, the girl thought about leaving home "for so many years" hence the slowness portrays this better than fast.
