I think it is I Want Candy by Aaron Carter. Either that or So Yesterday by Hilary Duff.
-
achy breaky heart...if i was in solitary confinement with this song, i'd fashion a belt out of my own skin and hang myself
-
There is not enough space nor time to complete a list of the worst annoying songs ever.
-
whatever the hell that new ashlee simpson song is thats on the radio all the time
-
yeah, ashlee simpson is really annoying. Her music sucks, yet her debut album went platinum in the first week
-
My choice is VERY well known.... just ask Bruno :)
-
Anything by the Spice Girls.
-

Mayve thats because MTV brainwashes people. They gave her her own show and they play it constantly. Of course the moronic kids are going to buy it. Like avril lavigne, she tries to be punk but she's really pop. ARGHHHH
and as for alan, MAMMA MIA LET ME GO
-
I think anything by nysnc is annoying.

That stupid ass "How Did I Get Here" song by the Talking Heads. Damn they suck ass!

I like the 'Talking Heads'. This is a great live album.
(The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads 1982)
-
His is a voice I just cannot get used to. Not that I've even tried though!
-
Is that David Byrne? I never liked him either.
The only song of theirs I like is Take Me To The River. Because the Billy Bass fish on my wall sings it. That and Don't Worry, be Happy.
;-D
-
My God, I have a Billy Bass too! Just a word to the wise, hide the stupid thing if you have two young kids. They'll find hours of enjoyment out of it while your searching for the nearest razor blade. A fad that couldnt end soon enough if you ask me.
Yes, David Byrne is the lead singer.
-
I don't have the fish, but I do have the dancing Santa! He's dressed as a cowboy and sngs Jingle Bell Rock. He's taken the place of my dancing flower. ;D Can we say tacky American fads...?
-

Just like Homer's? The one that blew the entire Springfield power grid? On the hot day that was having butterflies burst into flames in the air? Melting the ink off the newspaper? LOL!!
-

lol! I was just about to say "any Hilary Duff song"! Ugh, I had to listen to that stupid "This is what dreams are made of" song so many times when I babysat these two little girls and they wanted to watch the Lizzie McGuire movie... they kept playing that concert part over and over and over... bleh. :P
-
Is Hilary 18 yet? If not, i'll have to tell her to quit calling.
-
you take my breath away is annoying
-
There are way too many to list but right off the top of my head I'll say, "Macarena."
-
We Built This City (On Rock and Roll) by Starship. I can't stand that song...although it was sung in a Simpsons episode.
-
Two songs that make my ears bleed is Feliz Navidad by who knows who, and I DONT want to know, and Kiss Kiss Kiss by Yoko ::shivers::
-
What about Rasputin by Boney M? "Ra ra ras-putin. Lover of the Russian queen..."
-
Two songs that make my ears bleed is Feliz Navidad by who knows who, and I DONT want to know, and Kiss Kiss Kiss by Yoko ::shivers::
Jose Feliciano's 'Feliz Navidad' is annoying. (oh sorry)
-
How about I Write the Songs by Barry Manilow! Or even worse, I'm a Little Bit Country from the always annoying Donny and Marie! (barf3)
-
Great. Now I have Feliz Navidad in my head.
-
American Pie by Don McClean - I can't stand it!!! I know I am gonna get caned for that! :)
-
The song "Sexy Eyes" is possibly the most annoying song on the face of the earth. i don't know who sings it, but the lyrics are basically "Ooh ooh aah aah sexy eyes, I'm gonna take you to paradise, hey hey mama look at me, you got me feelin' free. Sexy eyes, sexy eyes, with your sexy sexy eyes, sexy eyes, sexy eyes, with your sexy sexy eyes. Na na na na na na na nee na na na na na na na nee..."
And I'm not kidding. Those are the only lyrics in the whole song, it's just those lyrics repeated over and over again.
-

Yeah.....the absolute WORST Simpsons episode of all time!
-
I can't remember that Simpsons episode. Someone refresh my memory.
-
Homer gets a collection of magazine surveys. He gives everyone the various tests. After driving Marge crazy, he decides to take a test himself. He takes one that says he has three years to live. With that idea in his head, he develops a bad case of insomnia. Additionally he becomes completely insane. A shrink recommends a visit to Florida to cure his stress. When he and the family arrive, they find that it is Spring Break. Homer sneaks out of his room to enjoy the celebration and attend concerts. Marge and the kids take a tour of the swamps and see the town's most famous alligator. Homer comes home from the concert and is so exhausted and drunk that he sleeps for the remainder of Spring Break. Homer takes the family on a joyride through the swamp and kills the town's most famous alligator. The sheriff arrests the whole family for "gatorcide." Homer escapes police custody with them. A train hits their car as they escape. They all get blue-collar jobs at a Deep South restaurant and stay in a trailer. They love their new lives. The sheriff finds them and hauls them in. After a trial, they end up on a chain gang. After they suffer through forced labor, the alligator turns out to be alive and the Simpson family gets to go home.
-
bed of roses, by you know who... jon bon jovi... yeah!!! just an opinion...
-
The episode is called "Kill the Aligator and Run", and it's so horrible that I refuse to watch it whenever it's on. Even out of the crop of crap from seasons 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, Kill The Alligator and Run stands out above all the other in crapocity. Awful!!!
-
What about Saddlesore Galactica? That was terrible.
-
There are flat Simpsons, there are weak Simpsons, but there are NEVER and BAD Simpsons!
;-)

I saw a poll recently where "built this city" was voted the worst of all time.....by the way, ebony and ivory was in the top ten....it's a shame that two awesome talents like macca and wonder couldn't have come up with an idea better than "hey you're black and i'm white, lets write a song together" sad moment for both.

Yes, Saddlesore Galactica was pretty friggin terrible. But I think that Kill the Alligator and Run surpasses even it in absolute crappiness. I can't imagine a worse episode. I mean Kid Rock and Joe C were guest stars for gosh sake. And Homer killed the alligator, and then magically at the end he wasn't dead but just unconcious and waltzed out of the governors mansion? What a load of horse sh*t!

I know, but the show in it's early years was on a comedic level of Shakespearian intelligence. Now it's all a bunch of lame crotch gags and drunk, jerk-ass Homer jokes.
-

For me the slump was season 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 was sort of an upswing. This season was not as good as last season but still better than than the previous 4. Nowhere near seasons 2-9 though.
-
I dunno. Somewhere around 7, 8 they went potty til about 12, then regained speed again. I'm surprised they can still be funny and topical, but there are definitely fewer episodes each year that can sustain solid wall to wall laughs.
-
the family guy is cool..........
-
Stewie is on in the background as I read your post. Weird!
-
To me season 7 and 8 were still brilliant. 9 was pretty good, 10 was just alright, but 11, 12, and 13 were almost all pure crap. In fact I don't think there's a single episode in season 12 that I like at all.
-

That stands for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant in case you wondered. But they have just about everything there you could ever want to know. Go on over and take a look at the seasons list and see what you think.

How do so many conversations end up about The Simpsons?
Anyways, I totally agree about Seasons 10, 11, 12, and 13. Quality has improved in the last two seasons but it still is no where near as good as it was back in the good old days(90-99). Season 16 looks promising as long as they cut down on the pointless guest stars and outlandish plots. I heard some one was going to come out of the closet this season. My bets are placed on Smithers and Patty.

Nah, that would be way too obvious...besides, Waylon has been known to be gay for years, and he and Patty came out together in the gay pride parade...albeit somewhat 'anonymously'.
It'll have to be someone not really expected and who's sex life has not really been the source of episodes in the past (Barney is a-sexual, Moe has had a girlfriend or two, Skinner is getting married, Chalmers has dated Seymour's mother, Lenny used to be married in the old episodes (maybe even Carl as well). Willy? Too off-center. Frankly, I don't have a clue...can't be Maggie again (as in who shot Burns?).

Ay, didn't Barney have a hot love affair with Linda Rondstadt? And don't forget his Japanese avant garde artist girlfriend in the B-Sharps flashbacks. He's not asexual, he just has very high standards!
My vote is on Crusty. You know how those show biz types are! ;D
P.S.
I wish they'd bring back Sideshow Bob. I LOVE that character. Was he even on this season? I can't remember.
Naw, Krusty is a total player. he has a kid, remember. And as for Sideshow Bob, he got the death sentence in a newer episode (I forget which one).
-
I can't believe I spelled Krusty wrong! What kind of fan am I!!!
-
Sideshow Bob was in a very sub-par episode last season called "The Great Louse Detective". And Barney didn't have a love afair with Linda Ronstadt, they just sang together. Maybe it's Milhouse. They've been trying to make him gay for awhile. Lenny too.
-
Really? I remember them hanging out in a hot tub and Linda coming on to Barney. I must have false memories.
-
Oh, Milhouse is in love with Lisa so it can't be him. If it were gonna be one of the kids I'd go for Martin. How about Reverand Lovejoy. It certainly would be timely. ;D
-
But the Rev is married as well.
Man. This is a toughie. I thought Milhouse was the best choice but now you have me doubting that. Hmm. Otto? No, he was shown to be into marrying a chick.
MARGE?!
-
No, Marge had an affair with that French bowler. And she had a crush on Ringo!
I think it is going to be Martin Prince. he's always acting... fruity. What about Troy McClure? Does his fish fetish count?
-
Smithers? Or Homer? They both enjoy listening to 'It's Raining Men'.
http://www.snpp.com/episodes/2F08.html
http://www.snpp.com/guides/smithers.sexuality.html
-
Yeah, probably Martin, tho it IS somewhat disquieting to be talking about a 10 year old coming out gay.
-
or Ralph. hehe
-
What about Sideshow Mel? He's not all that macho himself. Although he's not really a major character. Eh, I don't know!
-
I know!
Dr. Dick!!!!
Er....um....I mean, Hi Doctor Nick!!!!
-
Hi Everybody! Hi Dr. Nick! lol I always call out, "Hi everybody!" like Dr. Nick when I get into work.
Anyhoo...maybe it's Mr. Burns.
-
Ooh yeah, if it's Mr. Burns then Smithers can finally get his man. What about Groundskeeper Willy? Has he ever had a girlfriend? I can't recall.
-
I remember seeing Willy with a Scottish woman. I don't remember the episode though.
-

Yeah, we always do to. Interactive Simpsons fun!
I think we've named just about every character (Dr Hibbert!) in the show (Nelson!) and we're never going to (Dead Bleeding Gums Murphy!) figure it out so (The kid with the one eyebrow!!!) I guess we shouldn't bother anymore. Except, of course, we all *really* know...
it's Matt Groening!~
(afraid4)(bigeyes3)(roll)(kiss2)(eyebrows)(spank)

I know Willy has taken a liking to a couple of animals in the past. Didn't he fall in love with a wolf? Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait 'till the new season starts. Augh, the anticipation is killing me!
-
Has anyone guessed Principal Skinner yet? Maybe his relationship with Mrs Krabappel was all a ruse.
-
I know Willy has taken a liking to a couple of animals in the past. Didn't he fall in love with a wolf? Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait 'till the new season starts. Augh, the anticipation is killing me!
Well, he didn't fall in LOVE with it, tho he beat it pretty well...and shared some of his scotch whiskey.
However, he has been known to tear his clothes off and yell "Grease me up, woman!" (to the school cook). So I think his hyper-masculinity rules him out. Besides, he wears 'nothing but what the good Lord gave him' under his kilt...would a gay scotsman do that? Maybe. <shrug>

I think he was eliminated pretty early due to his impending marriage with the teacher.

Good one!
Only thing is, like the old geezer, I think they're a-sexual.
-
I love Hans!
"A poem. By Hans Moleman. I think that I shall never see. My cataracts are blinding me."
But yeah, he's too old. Who's the guy who always says I'm not gay! Or am I thinking of another show now? I'm confused!
-
isn't moleman the one who gets hit in the nuts with a football at a film festival, and Homer cracks up saying " it works in so many ways".....love that one.
-
maybe Apoo is your man....i mean....bad choice of words....
-
Tears For Fears: Sowing The Seeds Of Love.

-
Him and George C Scott. :)
-
I think it's Lenny...

-
Maybe it's Chief Wiggum.
-

So now we have to move into the next program. I'd guess Malcom is gay.

-
and Ross
that would explain all his divorces.
-
"Dilemma" , a guy and a woman sings it, I don't know who, but it's very annoying.
And the new cover version of "Let the sunshine in'. It's a shame to f** up such a good song.
-
Oh, "Dilemma" is sung by that other girl from Destiny's Child (not Beyonce) and the guy is some rapper named Nelly.
Another annoying song is "Dip It Low", by Christina Milan, another one of those retarded songs about "dippin' it low", "workin' that bod" and "poppin' those thangs". The video is pretty lame too. She's f**king wearing PAINT!
-
Anything by "lil John, usher, the eastsideboys, the ying yang twins, and Jessica simpson" not in that order.
-
Sea Cruise by ANYONE...
;-(
Herb

But then you'd be bald!! And Shania would win!!
-
Limp Bizkit's version of "Behind Blue Eyes". They cut out the cool part, which is the point of the whole song! What a bunch of jack asses. Rock/Rap bands shouldn't be allowed to cover classics. It's disgraceful.

I didn't really mind that song but I wouldn't say it's so damn great that it had to be played on the radio a billion times a day. Plus it reminds me of my ex so all the more reason for me to avoid listening to it.
-
All Downhill From Here-New Found Glory. Argghhh
-

The Song That Never Ends
-
I must say that there are few if any country cd's in my collection...You get the odd corker though....It escapes me now as to what...heheheh!
-
For some reason Clear Channel is playing "Black Betty" by Ram Jam alot. I thought that stuff wasn't PC, but the song is irritating as hell. Somebody must own the publishing.
Oh Black Betty bam da lam . . . .
Sorry if you can't get it out of your head now.
-
Another thread reminded me about how annoying the song Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter is. That song makes me wanna punch someone. Particularly the guy singing it.
-
The Song That Never Ends
This is the song that never eeends. Yes, it goes on and oooon myyyy frieeeends.
When my sister was little she watched that Lambchops show and I hated that song so much.
-
Heh...I love that song. Then again, I love lambchop and Shari lewis.
-
Oops I Did It Again by Britiany Spears. UGH! I hate that song because it's annoying AND IT KNOCKED PAUL MCCARTNEY OFF THE CHARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
"Rumours"- Lindsay Lohan
-
Heh...I love that song.
-
How was that show even on the air when you were a kid Colleen? I had never seen it untill just a couple of weeks ago when one of my students brought in a video and wanted to show it to the class. It was the creepiest thing I ever saw!! The kids all liked it though. I was never that much into puppets I guess. Sort of like Mr. Rogers and that wierd place he used to go to with the owl. Ewww.
-
Is it humanly possible to actually like Macy Gray? Just wonderin'.
-
I hate to double post so fast, but whatever. XD
True.
I'll rip her hair out instead!
Most of her hair seems to be made up of really long extentions. You'd have to claw through those first. o.o
-
some songs that come to mind...
-"lovers & friends" by usher, lil jon & ludacris...if u haven't heard of it, don't try to, ur one of the luckier ones
-anything by the g-unit, fitty cent, lloyd banks crew
-"beautiful soul" by jesse mccartney, if i hear that song one more time im gonna kill someone
-
I have to cast my vote for Eternal Flame by the Bangles. AAAAAAARRRRUUGH!
-
My boomerang won't come back was very annoying!
-
Well, I could never see the fuss over the Jefferson Airplane. ::)
Don't You Want Somebody To Love just gets to me. Grace Slick is WAY overrated! I can't stand her warble in this song! Truly annoying.
-
Really? Wow, I love her voice. I think she's fantastic. But to each their own, I guess.
-
Not THE most annoying EVER (I like it. I watch CSI sometimes BECAUSE of it, hahah.) but The Who's "Who Are You"; whooooareyou, whowho, whowho... that could drive me mad in a matter of minutes.
Anything Ashlee Simpson puts out. She doesn't deserve to sing, really.
Sucks that people think Jesse McCartney is related to Paul. </3
-
'Rock & Roll Part 2' by Gary Glitter. Every f***ing sporting event and it sucked when it came out. Also anything by Donovan.
-
Greenday's stuff is pretty damn annoying
-
Also anything by Donovan.
Oh no, you hate Donovan too? :(
-

Happy Birthday - ...(whoever,... everyday everywhere,...)
-
Both my daughters loved this song when they were in middle school. I let them play it in the car once in a while, but for every time I cringed through it I made them listen to a Bing Crosby or Beatles song. ;)
The refrain that starts at 00:30 sets my teeth on edge even now.

That song by Queen.
Bicycle, Bicycle, Bicycle x 1000

This one always annoyed me. Billy Joel and social comment don’t mix.

Yep that’s one that always makes me think people with four octave ranges really aren’t getting much of benefit.

I'm a Queen fan, but my kids ruined that song for me. Whenever it came on when they were little, they would SCREAM the word "bicycle." Three kids screaming less than a foot behind me in a rather small car. . . I soon learned to skip it.

The song Africa is like torture for me, especially this version.

That one is brutal. More sad than anything.
As for the song, I liked Africa when it came out but it passes me by now.

I'd gone through my whole life without hearing that song. I now wish I had a time machine that could take me back three minutes so I could not push play.

I do believe I have one that takes the cake. The kids and I were coerced into a trip to Walt Disney World some years back, and by the end I was ready to jump into the water, or simply run screaming out of there and then seek out a strong (alcoholic) drink. It just goes on, and on, and . . . ON. Not to mention, the animatronics were totally creepy.

The kids were coerced into going to Disneyworld ?
Agree about the song ha2ha

They played the same song at Disneyland when I was there in 1966. I had to take my sister on that ride.
The ride debuted at the 1964 World's Fair...

...with the same song. ;D
I liked the Mad Hatter's Teacup Ride because Alice was there...

Yes, basically. None of us were too keen to go (Florida + heat and humidity + crowds = UGH). It sucked, to be perfectly honest. Luckily my dad and his wife picked up the tab for everything. I would never pay to go there.
-
We went to Disneyland in the summer. The weather was fine. I agree that Florida, and Disneyworld, is a miserable place to be in the summer.
Here's a good video I found about the history of the It's a Small World ride...

Sorry you all had to hear the song throughout the video. ;D

Kids are better off going on that ride than watching the crap they have on TV today.

I’m an unabashed fan of Disneyland parks. But that song is annoying.

same here and have been to Disneyworld in Florida ~ 20 times (we have 5 kids and live within vacation driving distance).
While the song is monotonous for sure, two factors kept us returning to that ride -
- it is a fairly quick moving line (lots of people per boat and the boats are continuous)
- the song, while annoying, is actually a beautiful message to teach
- it is a decent long ride too...wait for it...in air conditioning!
-
I suppose it depends on whom you're with. We were led around by my father's wife, and it did not go well.
My daughters visited Disneyland (i.e., California) on a school trip, and had a better time because they were with their peers. But none of us is a fan of huge amusement parks. Water parks, for sure, though.
You're right, blmeanie, the song does have a good message, but it just grates on my nerves.

Right. And that's why Walt Disney conceived of It's a Small World for the 1964-1965 World's Fair...

Walt Disney also conceived of this for the State of Illinois Pavilion...

I cannot imagine being stuck on this ride for more than an hour. I barely made it through the normal 4-minute, teeth-gritting ride. After an hour, I probably would have snapped and jumped overboard, or run amok, or something. UGH.

And that Disney World guest chose TikTok to b**** about the experience. Maybe that person should take a bus tour of Damascus and get stuck for an hour and look at this...
I doubt that person would be alive at the end of that hour.
Yes, the song is repetitive but it does send a message. Here's another repetitive song from that era which sends a similar message...

This world would be a better place if people would heed these messages.

Kev, the song started out as True Love and Apple Pie sung by Susan Shirley in 1971...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE1QSP2Zw7w# (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE1QSP2Zw7w#)
It was soon rewritten as that Coca Cola commercial.
It was once again rewritten as I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing (In Perfect Harmony) and was first recorded by the Hillside Singers...

This one just popped up on Spotify while I was running errands. I'd completely forgotten about it. When my ex and I were dating, he'd always play this on the jukebox just to annoy the journalism students, a rather stuffy, pretentious bunch (not me, of course ;) )
The actual song starts at 00:40, after a bunch of "yo' mama" jokes.

I just now read that it was written in response to the Cuban Missile Crisis. I hadn't known that.

Hmmm, I was getting ready to post this—a song that has always annoyed me—when I found out it has a Beatles connection.
I understand this song is popular—apparently it hit No. 8 on the U.S. charts—but it's always grated on me.
Before I post the clip, here's a quote from the artist: "For some reason the song was speaking to my unconscious and was saying, 'Believe in me. Hey, I'm down here, I'm good.' It bothered me enough that I re-demoed it with like a Ringo Starr reprise of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.' On that album, Paul McCartney counts off at the last song, 'One, two, three, four... [drum beat].' That's Ringo."

Joe Cocker's version of With a Little Help from My Friends. *shudder*

Blech! I listened just long enough to make sure it didn’t start with church chimes and “Mother, you had me, but I never had you.”

It is rather stylistically different to John’s Mother.
