Paul will be giving a special performance for President Bush at the White House with his band in the fall during his U. S. tour which will be broadcast on PBS in early 06 since he has acknowledged even though he disagrees with the Iraq war McCartney doesn't want to seem rude in the name of politics.

Agreed. If people thought he sold himself out by playing the Superbowl (I didn't think so), then this really reeks to high Hell. I hope it doesn't materialise.

I don't see what the problem is.  He's not letting politics get in the way of doing a performance (which is what he should be doing).

I like how he disagrees with the horrid war, tho! :)

Where's the link to this story?

He's going to entertain one of the world's biggest criminals. That's just wrong.

Sorry Indy, but thats the way i feel. Many years from now, when the Iraqian people realize that living under the iron fist did actually suck, they will be praising Bush. Besides that, he's my president and I really dont take to kindly to the 'one of the worlds biggest criminals' tag.

Regardless of everybodys opinions, we (the US) voted Bush back in for 4 more years so get over it. Its done already. No matter how hard you wish and try, their not going to redo the election.

YEah but for any musician with such a greater history than even Bush, (In my eyes) to pamper to any leader, is'nt...dare I say it...A cool thing to do....Even if it was Reagan, or Clinton or to balance things here a bit, The Queen....Theres just something de-meaning to the legacy. It's like when Britney or who-ever gets paid  a couple of million to play to some rich Arab....Macca as A Presidents jester/muse?....I personally, don't like it.

Remember the flack or the so called reasons The Beatles never played for the Marcos's in the Phillipines.
Not trying to offend no-one...It's just that Paul seems greater than that to me.

We removed a Dicatator and started a Civil War and have alienated the rest of the world. Where's Bin Laden by the way? This will go down as the most arrogant, biggest farces of a Presidency in the history of this great country. I couldn't be more proud to be an American but I couldn't be more ashamed of our President. Absolute sham and I hope Sir Paul doesn't pander to him. Bush probably thinks its John that's coming.

Well, to be honest to everybody, I cant argue polotics with you because it doesnt interest me enough to know the facts so my opinion is pretty much bullsh1t either way. I do have plenty of friends over there though and if they stand behind the president,,,who am I to not? My only point in the matter is the election was held and Bush won. Why cry over things we cant control?

I also hope Paul does not play, but if he does, I wont dislike him for it.
