On last Sunday's episode, Bart gets in trouble for mooning the flag. He then goes on a talk show to defend himself and in the course of the interview the interviewer gets him to say that Springfield is better than Jesus. (or something like that) I wonder if that counts as a reference.

Nobody has said anything about my fav. Beatles episode ever, when Ringo is on.

"Dear Marge, thanks so much for the fab picture of Yours Truely. To answer your question, yes we do have hamburgers and french fries in England but we call fries, chips.

Love,
Ringo Starr

Ps. Forgive the lateness of my reply"

Or something like that (that just came from memory so I dono). I love Ringo sitting there answering letters from the 60s. Its classic.

I've seen the barbershop episode, but I can't remember cause its been so long ago. And I don't think I've ever seen the episode with Paul when Lisa becomes a vegitarian...I'll have to look out for that one.

Season 11 of the Simpsons: BABF01 (Treehouse of Horror X)
A global "Y2K" meltdown destroys earth after Homer neglects to debug the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant's computers. A rocket is headed to Mars and a lot of stars go aboard. Including Paul McCartney! (he didn't say anything...)

'The Sweetest Apu' (DABF14), Apu looks through his records and says "Shankar.....Shankar.....Shankar.....ah! Here we go!" and he pulls out a record named the Concert Against Bangladesh.

In one of the couch scenes, The Simpsons plus many of the townspeople recreate the Sgt Pepper cover.

BABF05 (Take My Wife, Sleaze): The Simpsons go to a 50's diner that has newspapers from the 50's on the walls. One of the larger headlines is "BEATLES FORMED!"

Another one in CABF12 (New Kids On The Blecch): Homer says this "...they're just nonsense words, like 'rama lama ding dong', or give peace a chance."

In 'Treehouse of Horror VI' (1F04): The Devil appears in Flanders-form, and confesses that his deep-down eternally-long secret was to be one of the Beatles.

'Last Tap Dance In Springfield' (BABF15): In the beginning of the episode that Lisa is taught by Little Vicky to become a tap dancer, Homer is at the eye doctors. He looks at glasses and the lady says, "This one is very popular with celebrities, such as Jim Morrison and Yoko Ono." Homer says, "Ewww, she totally ruined the Plastic Ono Band!"

'Bart vs Lisa vs 3rd grade' (DABF20): Principal Skinner had a group of rappers at the school, rapping about the importance of safety, and when they were done the principal said, "Wow, watch out, Beatles!".

'Special Edna' (EABF02): Little Richard is hosting the Teacher of the Year awards. Right when he is about to announce the winner, he says, "I'm a teacher too. I taught Paul McCartney to go OOOOOOOOH!"

After Homer's Barbershop Quartet, I really liked the Yellow Submarine parody in Last Exit to Springfield, as it was so well animated....

What hasn't been mentioned yet is the "Bart of War" episode from slightly over a year ago....at the start of the ep, Milhouse and Bart break into Flander's house and go into a secret room that has a ton of Beatles memorabillia.

"I didn't know you were so into the Beatles"

Flanders: "Of course I was! They were bigger than Jesus"

And then Milhouse and Bart drank some old Beatle drink and started hallucinating. Bart saw Millhouse as John changing from Mop Top to Hippie.

my favorite reference is in the boy band episode, when lisa questions Homer about the meaning of "Eva Net Niage" and Homer replies, "There meaningless, like 'rama lama ding-dong' or Give Peace a Chance"
The one with Flanders Beatle obsession is good too.

Here's a site that contains Beatles references found on t.v, in movies, advertising, etc. It's kinda cool! I like the Ferris Bueller one!

I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off, great movie...I liked it when Ferris sang (or danced on) Twist and Shout. Even his father does the twist...lol!

I like 'That Thing You Do! too...it has a lot of references in it.
"Come on, Ringo . You shoulda been on five minutes ago."

'I Am Sam' is very touching...and (yes!) more beatles references.
"Daddy, are there long-haired boys, and if there are, what are they called?"
"The Beatles."

That movie is hysterical!
Ferris talking about not having a car: " I quote John Lennon, 'I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me.' Good point there. After all, he was the Walrus. I could be the Walrus- I'd still have to bum rides off people." ."

I don't know why I find this so funny!

One good thing about the 80's is the quirky movies that came out.
