Remembering when the Beatles came to Bangor

THE arrival of arguably the four most famous Scousers in the world would create headlines in Bangor in August 1967.
The four Liverpudlians were of course The Beatles, and they were in Bangor to attend a 10 day programme of meditational seminars with Indian guru the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. The Beatles’ visit to Bangor would turn out to be a key period in their history, with the tragic news the Fab Four would receive while in the city heralding the slow decline of the band and the end of Beatlemania.
