Music » Orchestra will play orchestral arrangements of pop songs to support the Beatles’ tribute band, Classical Mystery Tour

The music of the Beatles is so pervasive, inventive and infectious that pretty much everyone can name a few favorites by the Fab Four.The appeal of the songs isn’t all about memorable tunes, though, said Utah Symphony Principal Pops conductor Jerry Steichen. Music man though he is, Steichen was first drawn to the Beatles’ lyrics. That’s one reason he’s looking forward to conducting this weekend’s Utah Symphony Pops concert featuring the Classical Mystery Tour, a tribute band.
