Sterotypes
« on: March 03, 2005, 12:37:11 AM »

We all know that the world is buried in sterotypes. If you wore all black just for one day, someone may all of a sudden go up to you and said, "OMG you're gothic!" And then you'll go back to wearing something else other than black and someone else may say, "OMG You're such a poser!" I cannot stand people like that.

Anyway, if the Beatles were teenagers today, what kind of music do you think they will listen to? If they were to form a group, what would they sound like? What kind of sterotype would each Beatle have to their name? What kind of person would they be? Keep in mind that this is a different time era and things today are much different than they were back then so therefore, they may have different influences and different perspectives and attitudes even.

haha, that's funny to think about.

john would be old school punk, paul would be pop and whatever else is the flavor of the week, george would be indie, and ringo, well-would just be ringo:)

they'd be an eclectic mix of music genres certainly and perhaps would experiment with such things like rap and the  gloomy-i hate life emo.

they'd sound like crap, but they would be the best crap around:) and would have a girl audience similar to that of those boy bands.

I talked to someone about this before and someone said that John would probably be punk or goth because of his views on life, his musical tastes as we know them, and his attitude he had towards life. I tend to agree with this. I would probably say emo, but knowing John back in the 50's, he'd probably still be tough and wouldn't want to show his EMOtions.

As for Paul, he once said that he liked Emeniem for his courage to speak out and didn't care what others thought. So I think that he'd be into a little of that as well as some poppish/romance songs, knowing Paul and all. He'd probably be the school hotty that every girl loves and would probably have a bunch of girl friends in his time--lots of fun might I add.

George, well... I think he'd be into the Indie stuff as well.

Ringo... Would he have been the outcast? He said he liked Country Western before it was even in, so I think he'd be into that. He also said he liked Emeniem, so with that in mind, he'd be in the same page as that too.

I hope to get more responses. This would be quite interesting.

John was a spoiled kid. John would probably be into heavy metal. Paul, George and Ringo were from tougher hoods. Paul would be a sponge, absorbing everything musical. He'd be doing a Sting or Steely Dan.  George would be an Eddie Van Halen wannabe.
Ringo would be playing in some crummy garage band playing classic rock and roll.
What drew them together when they were kids was the fact that rock and roll was new and exciting. Today it has evolved into so many different genres that they probably wouldn't even meet because they'd be into different things.

John would hardly be the spoiled kid and Paul would most certainly not be from "da hood."

still...john always seemed like the tough rebel and i don't think he would be spoiled. maybe its how paul turned out, but he always seems like he would fit perfectly with the "spoiled" child who gets whatever he wants attitdue.

Nah. In these more liberal times John would "come out" and be into electro-pop and The Village People.

I'll never forget the time I wore a black t-shirt with a fishnet thing over it. Boy, was that ever a mistake. Half of the people called me a goth, and half of the people called me a poseur. And one person called me a hooker.
Never again....
