So, how are your countries doing on the Olympic Games? And do you think the Olympics will make things better in China?

I love Olympic Games! Very interesting, mass, and attractive!
Russia took 3 medals for now (Silver and Bronze)

Bobber, but what do you mean by asking if games will make things better in China? Anything wrong with China?

Well, the murder of the USA volleyball coach's father in law doesn't help things. That kind of senseless act reminds me of the '72 Munich games. I am rooting for Shawn Johnson, who is a 16 year old gymnast from my State so I hope she brings home the Gold  :)

Here's how many medals the US has so far, 2 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze for a total of 8.

The opening ceremony was amazing. I was in complete awe.

I'm going to be completely honest, I only watch male swimmimg for one reason, Michael Phelps. :) He just one a gold last night. And has a verry good chance in breaking the record for most gold medals one in the Olympic Games.

Another Gold medal for Britain Rebecca Adlington wins Gold in the 400 meters freestyle swimming.
It's our first Gold medal in womens swimming since Anita Lonsbrough won Gold for the 200 meters breatstroke , at the Rome Games in 1960 . We also took bronze in the same event (thumbsup)(thumbsup)

i love watching gymnastics too, but i prefer figure ice skating. i like the Winter Olympics more though...

The opening ceremony was ace man!  8) Loved how the torch was lit... excellent!

New Zealand did pretty well in rowing... Russia is doing not too bad....

Will it make things better in China? I dont think so... I mean look at whats happening now during the olympics...  I mean, back in the days of the apartheid in SA the commonwelath game (or maybe not them), but in some sporty event SA wasnt allowed to play becuase they had the apartheid, and China being communist and violating human rights... well, not that its as bad as the apartheid... but stil. Then again China is the biggest economy and provides to the world so .... (roll)

Next time is London eh? second time since '48....

I was on the website and it said America is #1 with 15 gold medals. That's what the website said.

Michael Phelps one 3 gold medals so far. He is racing again tonight for a medal I think. Go Michael!

Oh, I just realized I used the wrong form of one. Instead of 'won' I wrote 'one'. Wow,  :P

Oh, ok my mistake.

Michael Phelps has become the greatest olympic athlete ever, winning the most medals. He still needs to win 4 more? I think to tie Mark Spitz record for most won in one game.

Mark Spitz won seven gold medals in 1972 and another two in 1968. Did you know he tried to qualify for the Olympic Games of 1992 in Barcelona?

There's quite a bit of anti-chinese bias in the media here which I find annoying.
On the opening night Newsnight (grownup serious news programme) roundly criticised the Chinese for not showing the darker side of their history in the ceremony. As if in 2012 the British will have a paegent (sp) showing soldiers machine gunning thousands of spear throwing africans, laden slave ships or millions of starving Irish and Indians.

That's so cool he tried to qualify.

Michael Phelps has 11 medals right? I'm not 100% sure if that is correct, but I'm pretty sure it's around that number. He wants to tie Mark's Spitz record for 7 medals won in a single Olympics, or so I have heard.

I watched the swimming matches last night and that Michael Phelps is amazing!!!!  And so is the rest of the US swim team.  It looks like they're dominating that event.
