A lovely cold front followed me home today. But the meteorologists keep talking about how warm Lake Erie is. We might be looking at some big snowstorms this winter!

Anyway, it's hot down here.  86 degrees right now on the second day of Fall.

That's what we were saying last night. A couple of days ago I heard that the lake was warmer than it was on that same date in 2014.

This was making the rounds, captioned "Abbott Road".

It missed here but unfortunately I was there!

It was right on, right on here too, right up until 5:00. I came home, complained about how hot it was, sat down for dinner and suddenly it was cold. A dream come true.  :)

Meteorologists know nothing. I think winter is best predicted by woolly bear caterpillars. But then, I'm a bit prejudiced.   ;D

We might be looking at some big snowstorms this winter!

I am SO worried about this winter. I have to get my daughter home from college for Thanksgiving and Christmas. NoDak snow is nothing like the wet, heavier snow with which I grew up in Central New York; it's very powdery, and with the winds even just a bit of snow can completely obscure visibility. I've always prided myself on being a pretty good snow driver, but ND snowstorms terrify me, unless I know for sure I can stay indoors.

Well, I can certainly understand why!

How far is it, Kathy?

It's about 4 hours, straight across vast stretches of open road with very few exits, and half the exits say "No Services" on them. My car has 105,000 miles on it, so I'll probably rent something. I have my fingers crossed (hard) that the weather will be good on any driving days.

If I recall correctly, you have a better car -- one with a heater and defroster -- this year, Kelley. Is that right? I'm glad for you.

Yes, I do and if I could I would drive you myself to get your daughter. Wouldn't we have fun? She would have to pack lightly though because there's not much cargo space! It's comically small. :)

Just look at all the cargo space in that wagon.  I'll even include this genuine professional harp once played at the Pixley Philharmonica Orchestra so you can both have music along the way.  That'll be 450 dollars.  Oh, a team of horses will be extra.

I don't play the harp and if Kathy doesn't either we'll have to get the harpist from the PPO to come along. I'm sure that can be arranged for a very modest additional charge. She can play "She's Leaving Home" the whole way.

You can make monetary arrangements directly with the harpist.  Oh, by the way, you'll need a special covered wagon harpist license.  That'll be 40 dollars.

No harp-playing skills here! I'll start saving my change.  ;)

probably the best weather (for me) the entire year this weekend.  All three days (was off Friday out on the lake) were 90-93 and no wind, pure blue skies with a few scattered puffy clouds.  Perfect.

It was in the 90s here just the other day.  Tonight it'll go down to the 40s.

Then you'll need this genuine imported biscuit baked piggy bank modeled after Arnold Ziffel.  It's only 15 dollars.
