That's a great list there Walrus_21 I think maybe instead of Long Tall Sally you should put some of their own late sixties rock, but thats just my opinion, your list really represents the Beatles :)

I'm surprised at how unpopular this thread is.

Thanks, all.  Very kind.
Yeah, I see the argument against Long Tall Sally, but put it on.  You won't find a better vocal committed to vinyl.  And as I said, I didn't want to shortchange the mania period.
I Am The Walrus?  Love it.  Considered it, since it's one of the weirdest ones, and because of the radio feed.  It's all give and take when you're trying to make a single record out of about 50 indispensible songs.
Love You To?  Great one, but I think the line "with our love, we could save the world" rivals only "all you need is love" in capturing their optimism, and that of the times.
I suppose the two I could let go from my batch are Lady Madonna, from which I just love the two-hands piano run, and Nowhere Man, which I considered leaving out for All You Need is Love, but ... how can you exclude Rubber Soul?  And it was already '67 heavy.
In My Life is a glaring omission, and there are others.
What's a Beatles fan to do?
love, wal
