Title: Opinions on The Beatles Songbooks
Post by: TheCatInTheHat on November 23, 2005, 05:03:46 AM: I'm looking to purchase a Beatles songbook but I want some opinions on these two selections:

The Beatles Fake Book (Fake Books) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/customer-reviews/0881887579/ref=cm_cr_dp_2_1/002-3461485-9476065?%5Fencoding=UTF8&customer-reviews.sort%5Fby=-SubmissionDate&n=283155)
- Apparently includes the cover songs as well which is a plus.
- What does Fake Book mean?
- How accurate is it?

The Beatles Complete Chord Songbook (Paperback) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0634022296/002-3461485-9476065?v=glance&n=283155&%5Fencoding=UTF8&colid=3C3T2LUVRCAVL&coliid=IP0RNKFYEU8T3&v=glance)
- Doesn't contain cover songs and has many inaccuracies judging by some of the reviews.

So what would you recommend?

Post by: An Apple Beatle on November 23, 2005, 10:17:27 AM: Depends what instrument you play. I have both The Beatles Complete guitar/vocal edition and I also have another Beatles complete which is not quite as good....I will have to dig it up.

There are many 'Beatles complete' out there.

I think this is the best one I have come across so far.

I use it the most when my ears fail me.

Does this feature the tablature? as well as the proper sheet music?

hmmm ok.

How accurate is the book you recommended? Does it feature cover songs as well?

The other book I have is The Concise Beatles Complete which I do not rate as highly. Still good but no chord diagrams though.
