Acoustic guitar (11 years)
Electric guitar (9 years)
Bass (8 years)
Drums (1/2 year)

And I sometimes try to do something on my keyboard but I get bored with that very quickly cause I just don't really like that instrument.

Drummer first and guitarist second.  I play mainly Beatles tunes on the guitar, but I also dabble in Creedence, Cat Stevens, John Denver etc.  I especially like playing some of Denver's finger picking stuff, but it is still a bit beyond me at this stage.  I mainly play acoustic stuff - I love the sound of an acoustic.

Basically played anything that the other guys I used to jam with wanted to play when I drummed.  That made me a better drummer.  Tryed to learn keys, but I shelved that until I get the guitar down pat.

I play acoustic and electric guitar, although I'm no Jimi Hendrix! I started out playing my older brother's acoustic in like August 2007, but then I got an electic for Xmas. I also wanted an acoustic of my own, so I got one about a month ago and started lessons on it. Playing guitar was hard for me at first, but about a month after I started I bought a Beatles chord book and got tabs off the internet and started teaching myself a lot of stuff. I soon discovered that it actually comes very natural to me and I can play a fair amount of stuff.

Always sang, but started on recorder (hey, don't laugh), then on to treble and sopranino recorders. Then guitar (had to be able to play Things we said today  -  too satisfying for words...) and now attempting to teach myself flute. I also run music groups for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The future is bright, the future wears washable nappies...

My husband and me are more or less "arm chair" guitar players.  He plays a Fender Squire Precision Bass and I've got an old Peavy Predator strat-copy that really needs some work.  It's old, the amp's old and I'm debating about whether just to trash it and get a new one, or have it worked on.  What do y'all think????  I'd love to get the Fender Squire Strat kit and just start all over again..............

Just found this thread. I play both guitar and drums. Never really had the confidence to try out for bands because I completely suck at both. I'm finding myself strongly drawn towards learning the bass as it's technically the rhythm section. I could never be arsed at learning scales.

My aim is to become good enough to start a Beatles cover band - it'll take some time but it's time I'm willing to invest :)

I'm a drummer and our band 'The Gardens' (named after the municipal tenement block we lived in) played a Beatles set at Liverpool's Mathew Street Festival this year at a pub on Lime street called The Head of Steam (it's part of the train station) and although the drums in this Macca track doesn't extend me at all, the guitarist who played Mandolin on it has posted in onto Youtube - see http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UXKkgkVaLBg

We tried to do a set that wasn't the normal singles hits type so went for songs like ps I love you, Norwegian wood, No reply, Things we said today and Ob la di - ob la da amongst others. I got my solo bit on Abbey Road's 'The end' though :)

I've learned how to play the flute and the guitar.  Between the two, I prefer the guitar.  I used to do both classical and rock guitar, but I liked rock better.  Busting out some Beatles or Stones tunes was a great way to de-stress.  :)

I consider myself a bass player since that's what I enjoy the most and that's what I play in my heavy rock band.  I was a music education major in college so that combined with becoming a band instrument repair guy while apprenticing at a local music store over many years pretty much allowed me to learn how to play all the winds.  Now obviously I'm not performance quality on most of them, but I fool a lot of the customers when I play test their horn.  I was a tuba player through high school and college as well and still play it on some of the Beatles tunes we do, as well as trombone.

My primary role in the Beatles band though is auxillary percussion.  As mentioned in the "instruments owned" thread, I have a whole box of things to hit, shake, rattle and so on.  I also trigger samples for things like crowd noise in Sgt. Pepper's, tambura drones, reverse cymbals, wind, birds and you get the idea.  I do play bass, guitar and sing a little on a couple songs to prove to the audience that I'm not just the Linda or Yoko of the group.....or at least that's what I tell myself when I lie awake at night.

I've been a guitarist for six years (mostly jazz and rock, with a bit of pop and blues) and I play both acoustic and electric. I also play piano and I am a vocalist.

I play acoustic and electric guitar, and clarinet as well. But guitar is much more fun  ;) I sing for fun. Jazz, rock and blues is mainly my gig.
I've got a gorgeous epiphone Les Paul.

Welcome, Gregga. That's quite some weaponry you've got there. You could make a lot of noise with that. I had electric guitars in the 60s, but these days I'm down to a single Spanish guitar.

So I know it's lame to just barge into a forum and ask people to listen to your music. But here's the thing, I visit this forum all the time because I love the Beatles, and I trust this forum's musical opinion.
So if any of you guys have a free minute, listen to my new song and tell me what you think. Thanks yall.
