I think the James Paul McCartney TV special from 73 which I didn't see for the first time until 76 is one of Paul's finest moments as an artist after the breakup of the Beatles with his band Wings since it was extreme television with the former Beatle in the decade of Sonny & Cher & Carol Burnett variety shows with McCartney playing the majority of his current songs with a few Beatles classics at the time but I consider this TV special to be excellent viewing for any dedicated Beatles fan along with the fact that I will always remember him with his famous 70's haircut at the time.

Hi PC, what was that track we talked about from this show a few weeks back? I think it had Paul tap-dancing on it!
I have never seen this show, but from what I've heard and the pics I've seen... hmmmm no thanks, not my cup of tea at all! Sorry Wayne, no offence intended :)

I think the James Paul McCartney TV special is great with live versions of Big Barn Bed, Mary Had A Little Lamb, Little Woman Love, C'Moon, My Love, Live & Let Die, Mess I'm In & ending with Yesterday even though some of you might disagree.

it is definite that it was a good sound track but i liked the rock show and wings over the world.pauls trouble is he tries to be glamorous.he isn't.
-
I'd love to see that again, haven't seen it since it was broadcast in 1973. I didn't know it had been booted or ever circulated around. Maybe they will release it one day before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

its on kazaa

I think the James Paul McCartney TV special is GREAT which I saw for the first time back in 76 because it showcases Paul at his finest with his band Wings more so than his classic rock movie GMRTBS which is a debacle.

Yeah, thanks. I've seen it around but I just have dial up, and a slow one at that. I would be buried before it would finish.

James Paul McCartney is a great television special showcasing Paul at his finest with his band Wings, which I saw for the first time back in 76 with great music & his famous 70's haircut defining the decade!

I've only ever seen clips, but from what I've seen it looks dreadful! Sorry Macca :(
-
It was terribly reviewed at the time.

I seem to recall a particularly bad tap-dancing scene!!! LOL

Yeah, the half-male/female dancers and a tap dancing Paul. The usual worst lolight of the program.
-
Oh god yeah!!!!! I'd forgotten all about those half-and-half dancers!! LOL! ;D
-
Paul tap dancing?? Ok, I would do anything to see that!! Why don't they put it out on DVD!! Does he have his mullet in it? Still, he had to be gorgeous.
-
Oh yes, the mullet was well to the fore! ;D

I think the James Paul McCartney TV special is one of Paul's finest moments during the 70's after the the breakup of the Beatles while the live version of Big Barn Bed on this special rocked out more than the album version on RRS.
