I'm In Love is another one, but the version by The Fourmost was chosen to be released. This is Billy's version.

i wonder sometimes why the gave songs to a group to cover that sounded little like them...i know there was a midas touch involved in some cases but billy j was not a rock and roller really...he was more pop...he in my opinion never did the beatle tunes justice...

True that. Epstein probably fell for his trousers. ;D But what act DID justice to the Lennon/McCartney songs in the early sixties? The songs they gave away weren't the worst, but somehow the demos sound better to my ears than most other artists that recorded them. Maybe Peter & Gordon did one or two Lennon/McCartney originals that were done well.

yeah i would say that peter and gordon did the best job but then they didn't attempt the rockers...

Maybe that's the reason why. I do like Cilla Black's It's For You as well.

I see what you mean, but maybe not a fair comparison. Songs the Beatles played live and later recorded in the studio sounds smoother too.
-
granted the beats is a poor recording but it seems to be better than gerrys...a bit more rocking because of the drums and the off key haromizing...gene vincent did the best version of that song by the way... :P

on another note the beatles had this for inspiration SX-ewkukR6w (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SX-ewkukR6w)
and gerry and group had this hOCB0EvmEY0 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOCB0EvmEY0)

Billy J Kramer was on Paul Schaffers tribute to the Dave Clark 5 and sadly, he was pretty bad. His voice is shot. Peter and Gordon got back together for that show too and those old bastards sounded fantastic.
