Yeah...heheeh!..Wish I had seen that programm...A lot of them extreme jazzers and musicians seem to have had that problem. Probably hooked up by dodgy club-owners of the venues they played!

How y'all gonna make ends meet?

Here are the two Beatle reggae sets I have. Beatles songs either work really well in a reggae style or they don't come close. No in between. I like the title of the second one- "Mellow Dubmarine".  Peace Out y'all wif yo nappy Mop toppin's.

Bleck! Two different eras, two different genres!!! And might I add, I cannot stand most rap and what it stands for. If the Beatles were a rap band, I do not think I would have ever got interested in their music whats so ever. And therefore, most likely I wouldn't be a fan. I do not like what rap stands for. Period

They're white... They wouldn't do rap..

The Beastie Boys?  Emimem?  I'm not a big fan of either, but they do rap.  Even Vanilla Ice rapped.  It wasn't pretty but it was rap.

That would be a neat idea: what if the Beatles had continued into the 1990s and then as a gimmick had been forced by their label to do a video with Vanilla Ice?  Ice, Ice, McBaby . . .

Actually, a better idea.  What if John had formed a supergroup with Jimi Hendrix after the Beatles split--and then Paul came back with Stevie Wonder with the Ebony and Ivory thing.

And they had a massive battle of the bands and Prince emerged from the purple rain victorious playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"?

Amen, Tiff.

As stated earlier by someone, Dylan is a rapper, Chuck Berry is a rapper, John Lennon is a rapper, Chuck D is a rapper--

rapping obviously evolved from african american traditions such as toasting as well as talking blues--but then african american tradition was informed by european poetic traditions such as the rhyming couplet, etc.

that's the great thing about american culture: europe and africa met and created this incredible cultural and artistic synthesis that has influenced the entire world

john paul george and ringo would never have been if africa and europe hadn't collided in america--they would have been hanging around the pubs singing sea shanties or something

not that there's anything wrong with that . . . .
