Rays voice is brilliant, better than John & Justins imo

a thought entered my head, wonder if he was like George and had to struggle to get tracks on albums and have his songs put on the set list at concerts ?

somebody told that Mike Pinder refused to go on the Octave tour because of this and then left the band

THE MOODY BLUES' music is so unique, there is not a band that sounds like them. One thing that I've noticed about the 1960's bands is that every band had their own unique trademark sound. THE MOODY BLUES had their own unique sound just like THE BEATLES, THE KINKS, THE STONES, FLEETWOOD MAC, THE BEACH BOYS, CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL, THE WHO, LED ZEPPELIN, BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE and CREAM, just to name a few, had their own unique trademark sounds. None of these bands copied each other or sounded like anyone else. That's what makes these bands great and unique. Take care.

actually there is BF, one of my favourite bands of the last 40 or so years is Barclay James Harvest, they sold tons of albums in Germany/Holland/France/Sweden but were totally ignored in theyre native Britain and all other English speaking countries

have a listen;

How's it going mate? WOW, I'm totally floored mate! What really surprises me is that I have never heard of BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST. BARCLAY JAMES HARVEST does sound alot like THE MOODY BLUES, I never thought that any band could ever sound like THE MOODY BLUES! theres a funny story, back in the 70's a music journo called them the poor mans moody blues, John Lees (guitarist) thought this was quite funny and rewrote Nights In White Satin and called it Poor Mans moody Blues
