Title: DM's Little Blue Book
Post by: Mairi on May 04, 2005, 11:11:34 PM
Thought this might be fun for people to do. Now I have met people who keep their own 'Lil Black Books and they all have the same 3 things:

1. Possible mate's name
2. Possible mate's phone number
3. A few things to remember about possible mate summed up in 3 sentences or less.

So what I think we should do here is make our own Little Black Books for DM's. This isn't a dating Black Book though. Its more of a...blue. Okay, its a blue book now. DM's has a Little Blue Book.  So anyway, while we won't be able to put on phone numbers or real names, just work with what you got and what we've got is just member names and our impressions that members have given us. So write away here and keep it safe with you for whenever you encounter a member here in DM's Beatles Forums.

Oh I almost forgot the format, it's easiest to try something like:

Paulsluv: This girl is more obsessed with Paul than I ever was. It's kind of scary yet admirable at the same time. She also doesn't like Heather so it would be best not to mention her in front of Paulsluv unless you're hating on her.

It would be best if you guys tried to write something nice. I'll post some more entries later. :)

Hehe, you may be right. (grin) We don't want any of that in there!

Indica: For the longest time I thought he was like an old professor, because he was so intelligent. But then I saw his picture and realized he is only a university student who likes art and plays bass.

Hey, unless we tell the truth, there's no point in this. Tkitna has not been able to even bruise any of my arguments, let alone tear them to shreds.

At least, that's my opinion ...

I'm not looking for compliments. Someone started a thread like this on another forum and I thought it would be fun. Just trying to spread a little sunshine, instead of starting fights. I just wanted to have a chance to say some nice things about the people here.

Sandra: A nice elementary teacher, who has been a Beatles fan since she was six. She also likes The Doors, Pink Floyd, and The Who. I think if she and I had been around in the sixties, we could have been Beatles groupies together.

Oh, and to clarify, when you say mate you mean it as friend. I think most Americans think of a mate as something COMPLETELY different! That would make the game kinda weird. ;D

Oh yes, that is what I meant! (grin) yes, that would be a little weird. I find myself using British-isms sometimes because of my dad.

Oh, how nice of you to ask, Slick Rick. You really are my dolly.

Since you asked so sweetly, I'll tell you a secret. There isn't really a score for Tkitna. The game is played among the big boys, and the likes of Tkitna, and PC Plod, and Apple Beatle, and Bruno, and Indica only think they're playing the game of 'Beatle Expert'.

But don't y'all go telling them ... especially PC Plod. I especially don't want to disillusion him!

Cheers for the mention Gwyn.
Beatle expert? we have all read the same books, watched the same documentaries and listened to the same albums... it's all individual taste. The hard facts and statistics are only a small part of this forum.
I always like reading personal favourites etc
So the definition of  'Beatle expert' is something I never think about.

Oh, and as a footnote..it's amazing how someone Like Al is not mentioned..wonder why that is.

Truth? What are you going on about?? This is just a silly post to have some fun. That's all she meant by posting it. My God you take things seriously. Truth is better than nice? What does that mean? Did you ever hear the old saying: If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Maybe you should keep the truth to yourself sometimes. I sure don't go around at work or in life telling everyone exactly what I think. Hey boss, do you know we all think you're a dork? Hey so and so, your outfit really sucks and I don't  like your opinion on gay marriage. Who cares!! I'd rather not hurt the persons feelings or start a worthless argument that doesn't solve anything. This isn't life and death here. It's DM's Beatles Forum.

You see, right here. This isn't truth. You don't know this girl so you have no credibility when you say something like this and pretend its truth. What this really is, is mean spirited and unnecessary. That's the truth.

There you go again, not reading carefully enough. I didn't say that I granted your wish. I said:

Your wish has been granted

I have no idea who granted it. I only know that you're not a Beatle expert.

Edited to fix a typo.

Never did I say I was. Whats that got to do with the price of sliced bread?

I'd hate to be a Beatle expert if it meant I came across anything like you think you are. NO-ONE is a BEATLE expert! We all have areas where we may excel in our knowledge of Beatles. I don't want to know what particular brand of toilet paper they may have used to wipe their ass.

What makes an expert then Ydoll? Your finnicky particularness is quite pathetic. Another tool you adopt when side-stepping or wriggling out of forum debate.

It makes me laugh how I rise to it. Still, maybe this forum should be called Ydoll's Beatle forum. Then you could kick out the non-experts.

Are you in a semi-state of retirement, forever studying the Beatles for an imaginary degree in the subject? Write a book on it or something then.

Why do you always miss the point? Go back and READ. The point between us is, who granted your wish to not be a Beatle Expert?

To tell you the truth, I was going to comment that perhaps you meant "can" instead of "may". But I gave you the benefit of the doubt. But even if you meant "may", I don't think it's true. Some people's - er - mental attributes prevent them from achieving excellence in anything.

Can they excel? Nope. May they excel? Nope (insofar as "may" means much in this context.)
