Anyone like?
-
I don't like them, I absolutely love them!
-
I LOVE THEM.
Favorite album is The 3 EP's.
-
Beta Band thread? Cool (thumbsup)
-
The "3 E.P.'s" is a very good album...but my favorite would be "Heroes To Zeros." It is I think their "Abbey Road." ;)
-
Three other people on this board have heard of them?! :o I thought I was the only one.
-
^You're not the only one ;)
-
Beatles and Pink Floyd fans should be at least familiar with The Beta Band. (thumbsup)
-
i like their stuff
-
Some of it is absolutely bizzarre, but trhey have some GREAT music. I think The Three Ep's is my favorite, though The Beta Band and Heroes to Zeroes are also exzellent
-
I may be wrong but everytime I listen to the Beta Band I hear Dave Gilmour singing ;)
-
yeah their is a very similar quality to them. I
bought the 3 ep's after seeing High Fidelity, cos the refrain on Dry the Rain is so catchy. But their much more than that really
-
^me too I have to thank John Cusack (thumbsup)
-
so theres 2 copies he sold right there. probably got more than 5 eh?
"These guys a re good"
"I know"
-
^probably :)
after hearing "dry the rain" from the film, i jumped out of my seat, did a quick search, reviewed the album, bought it the next day (thumbsup)
thanks John ;)
-
I listened to Walking on Sunshine after that movie. Thanks Jack
-
Chalk it up to different tastes, but I have that song on the 'Hi Fidelity' soundtrack and its as boring as whale s*it. Its muzak. My opinion, but its only based on that one song.
-
The High Fidelity soundtrack also introduced me to Stereolab, Velvet Underground, Belle and Sebastian, Smog, and Love..
-
..and to some extent I got quite heavily into some Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder stuff
-
^Yup. Except for Stevie Wonder in the 80's.
"Top 5 musical crimes commited by Stevie Wonder in the 80's. Subquestion, is it fair to hold later mistakes against a legend. Is it better to burn out or fade away?
"
-
^Yup.
-
Ha! :D That's one of my favourite scenes. High Fidelity is just loaded.
-
Barry: "Do we look like the kind of store that has "I Just Called To Say I Love You"? Go to the mall.
-
LOL :D
-
Rob: "Whyd you tell her about the store?"
Barry:"O, I'm sorry. I thought not having customers was a bad thing, not, yknow, a buisness strategy."
-
If you guys get/rent the DVD, some of the deleted scenes are really good. I just bought a Cinema poster of it and matted and framed it. Its a wambo, but looks cool.

That's cool. Like "A Hard Day's Night" cover photo.
I love those deleted scenes, especially that scene where a lady is offering her husband's entire 45's collection for 50 bucks to John :o (drool)
