Oh <laugh> sorry; let me rephrase: Great job, MrMustard! I myself cannot draw a straight line with a ruler.

Yet another reason why I really should not post until at least the second cup of coffee.  ;)

Me too. I'm not skilled at a lot of things but drawing is one where I'm particularly not skilled.

They''re great drawings Mr M

My daily driver is a Porsche 944 turbo so I've stayed out of the long-time rivalry...

Aww...so nice! That would go a long way towards making every day a good day! I'm counting the days until the mortgage is done because I'll be able to get a new car. I have it all picked out but I hate to even say what it is because I might jinx it and I'll be stuck in my current ride forever!

I missed a big chunk of this thread somehow...

I guess for me it was community (amateur) theater. Been in it since high school. Not so much in recent years. Not convenient where I'm located now.

That's really interesting, Jim; I bet it was a lot of fun. I've never had the self-confidence to try anything like that.

Sell the station wagon and buy a Ferrari!   ;)

I'd do it in a second if I thought I could ever possibly financially manage it!

I don't suppose you'd be interested in trading your Porsche for a slightly dented 2006 Toyota Rav 4, would you, Barry?   ;D

I've never had the self-confidence to try anything like that.

Here's the trick to beating that, or any form of stage fright: The audience is on your side. They want you to succeed. All the hundreds of them out there.

Now, go for it.

 ;)

Excellent! I'll remember it too this afternoon when I have twenty little faces and their teachers looking at me, waiting to hear why they should sign up for the summer reading program!

ha2ha They were very quiet; almost too quite. Either the heat was wearing them out or I was incredibly boring.

Or get out the can of Raid!   ha2ha

LOL No, it never came to that but when the video I had imbedded in my PowerPoint presentation failed to play I thought I might have to dance!

Your interest in ocean liners isn't dull! I've been seeing a lot of cool lithographs while researching the ancestors who came here from foreign lands. I'm going to need to do some reading to find out more about what their journeys might have been like.

Thanks, Kelley! I guess I've gotten used to my family members' eyes glazing over whenever I start rhapsodizing about my favorite ships. I think my collection of ocean liner books and items (no actual memorabilia per se, unfortunately) is my biggest economic asset. I told the kids that I will bequeath it to them, and if they sell anything I will haunt them.   ;D

I would love to do some ancestry research and see if I can find on which vessels my ancestors came to America.

Music, of course, and drawing/reading/current affairs. I hate not having several books to hand at any given time.

 . . .

Creepy/supernatural stuff (books/documentaries etc) fascinate me.

I'm the same way; I always have a stack of unread books and old favorites piled by my nightstand. I enjoy creepy/supernatural topics, too.

I'm still marveling at your wonderful drawings, Mr Mustard!

Oh yes; I know that glazed look well! I've probably given to everyone here too.

I'm really glad that my daughter is interested in the research I'm doing. She'll probably continue it some day. My son, however, is the king of glazed eyes.
