Plaque remembering the woman who inspired the Beatles’ hit Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is to be placed in Liverpool

A PLAQUE remembering the woman who inspired the Beatles’ hit, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, is to be placed in Mathew Street.Lucy Vodden, who died in 2009 aged 46, was depicted in a watercolour painting a young Julian Lennon created at nursery school.The artwork was the inspiration for the classic Lennon/McCartney song.The bronze plaque has been commissioned by St Thomas' Lupus Trust, who have worked with Julian to promote awareness of the disease which claimed Mrs Vodden’s life.Campaigns director Angie Davidson said she was “thrilled” that Liverpool City Council had approved the request.

I've got a growing belief it's a complete set up. The song is obviously about LSD, the lyrics are LSD visions. John probably made up the complete story about the drawing of Julian. He must be laughing his ass off up there.

this is unbelieveble !!!

Its the best lyrics ever written for describing an acid trip, they wanted to call the song LSD (but obviously couldnt) as you say Cor John must be p*ssing himself at these numbskulls  ha2ha

Probably following John's 'truth' that he wrote the song after being inspired by a drawing Julian made, the book A Hard Day's Write came up with a drawing that has been copied and copied since, without checking were the drawing really came from. Even poor Julian now believes the drawing is his and was Johns inspiration.

He even used it in his latest EP or so. The biggest joke is that Lucy is now getting a plaque. LSD should get it!

this plaque is dedicated to LSD without it there would be no Lucy
