Apparently Sinatra always introduced this track as his favourite Lennon/McCartney song!!

I like Anne Murray just fine, but I can't imagine her trying to do a Beatles song.

I knew Anne Murrays version before I ever heard the original. It was OK.

It is true, she did a cover of "You won't see me" I have the single of it. Not too bad though, she stayed true to the original arrangement.

The song that get's my vote for worst Beatles cover is The Carpenters cover of "Ticket to ride" and Ritchie Havens cover of "Here comes the sun".

Don't forget, in the late '70s, when there was some ruffling about the band Klaatu being the Beatles under a fake name, the Carpenters did "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" or whatever the hell it was called.

Here in Holland we've got a 'singer' called Vanessa. She's middle-aged former pin-up model with a very thick Dutch accent and no musical talent whatsoever, and she's famous for two reasons: her big boobs and the fact that she married a guy that owns the majority of all record stores in the country. She once recorded a cover of "Merry XMas (War Is Over)" that included spoken personal christmas wishes to every single one of her children. It's so bad, it'll make you want to laugh and cry at the same time.

Aretha Franklin's version of "Eleanor Rigby" is pretty stupid.  She starts out, "My name is Eleanor Rigby . . ." and doesn't seem to realize Eleanor dies a couple verses down.

Oh well, the Muscle Shoals boys still rock.

The Supremes version of "A hard days night" really blows and not in a good way!

I have a couple of the Klaatu lps and I heard all the mess about it being The Beatles, but wasn't aware of The Carpenters tune.....they were creepy enough with a song with a title like that....... :D

That sounds hilarious. Celine Dion and Bert McKrakken's covers of War Is Over, however, are just mind-numblingly bad.

No one has ever done justice to Beatle songs except The Beatles.

Just got a copy of The Torero band performing Tijuana versions of Beatle songs. It came out in '69 and is a fantastic listen - guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. Only one bad version - Yellow Submarine - which is appalling.
Hey Jude is magnificent.

Aerosmith's ballsy version of Come Together is great & it sounds like an original.

The worst cover of a Beatles classic of all time would have to be Helter Skelter by Motley Crue, without a doubt.  Their version is lifeless, lacking any attitude at all & isn't even that loud or ballsy.

I listened to it, I wouldnt say it's so bad. But the've changed the sound so much that the original song is already unrecognizable!

You must be trippin baby if you think the original Beatles classic is unrecognizable & the Crue's version is complete crap.
